Princess Cays in the Bahamas was on par with Royal Caribbean/Celebrity private island Labadee. Disney's Castaway Cay is still the best. For Princess Cays, a big negative was that everyone had to tender to get to the island which was ok but there were long lines if you chose to tender at the same time everyone else does. Since it was our first day, we slept in and didn't have much of a wait since we tendered after 11am. I recommend tendering back late after the crowds leave so you can enjoy the beach and ocean without standing in a long line. On Princess Cays there were several attractive beaches. Luckily, no seaweed that we experienced last April at Labadee. The private bungalows were attractive but sold out. I never see much use for them. The BBQ buffet was typical with lots of fresh fruit. All the cruise lines need to improve the lunch quality and offerings on these private islands. We finally found 2 lounge chairs under a shady palm and watched the kids play on rental tubes. Just outside the compound was a local open air market where local sold their wares. Most of the ideas looked like they were made in China. What happened to the homemade items sold on the islands years before? There were enough bars that of course closed up tight 1-1/2 to 2 hours before the ship left port which is so annoying (All the cruise lines do this). Staff said they close the bars and buffet early so they can get all the supplies back on the ship. I think it's to discourage passengers from getting too drunk and force them back on the ship early. Overall, Princess Cays provided pretty beach day. Read Less

The Princess portion was okay, lots of shops and rentals for the water. Too many cruisers hanging out here, so we decided to take the Taste of Eleuthra Tour. This tour takes you by minibus to a few little towns. You visit a school and a restaurant twice to drink and then eat. They perform a little Junkanoo parade there and also have you sample conch salad. Well worth the price for getting a taste of Eleuthra. Read Less

I'm not a big fan of private islands, but Princess Cays on Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas was lovely. My husband and I rented a clam-shell for the day, and sat on the beach at the quiet end of the island (across the bridge from the tender pier-- to the right). One thing I will commend Princess for, were the number of luncheon buffet lines. There was never a line at our end either for drinks at the bar, or for lunch at the buffet. This was very well planned and executed. Read Less

We have been to Princess Cays many times. It is a fun beach experience but we find it even more enjoyable to just enjoy a relatively deserted ship so often just stay on board.

Princess Cays was a beautiful and relaxing stop. It is nice to just head to the beach with your towel and cruise card. It did not seem crowded at all. While most people headed to the left after getting off of the tender dock, we headed to the right, over the bridge where it is less crowded. We brought our water shoes to make it easier to walk through the sand and over the rocky beach entrance by the volleyball court. We also brought our goggles from home and enjoyed snorkeling around the rocky area by the lifeguard post. There were lots of colorful fish to see! There were plenty of chairs and shade to be had. More than one BBQ buffets also helped to disperse any crowds. I would've given it 5 stars if not for the crowded tender boats. Read Less

Nice beach, they had a buffet for food setup. They had some small cabins you can get also. Did not see the need for them but they did have a shower outside on each one.

I'm not crazy about this stop. The entrance to the beach is very rocky and with the waves it is hard to enter and exit. We rented inflatable chairs for $9 each and mine hit the rock and ripped. They were hard to control but did not tip over. Princess offers many water activities but basically it's just a bare island. Princess puts on a barbecue with few choices for vegetarians. There is a large choice of fruit. You have to be tendered to the island which is not a favorable event for me Read Less

It was like going to a beach party with a bbq. It was a relaxing day, but you are in trouble if you are disabled. They were unable to take the disabled people to the land since the boat had to anchor in the water.

The snorkeling was great. The shops were ok. The food available on shore was nice. The people helping with shore excursions were great. The lockers available for $5 were minuscule. Just enough room for a purse.
