Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

The immediate area is nice enough, with plenty of churches, a brand new library, opportunities to eat the best mussels in the word and oysters that area also right up there. It is also a great jumping off point to get into a vehicle and enjoy the rural scenery. You can visit the house that inspired the book Anne of Green Gables, which has very nice surrounding grounds. Having been there ...

PEI was fun - had a good tour guide (they make or break excursions) and saw a couple of historic lighthouses. One of the better excursions we had. ...

Good place to explore on your own and (as advertised) very walk-able. Avoid the crowded tourist traps near the cruise port and walk further to see the best houses or restaurants. We had lunch at Salt & Sol in the Yacht Club and that made our day. The pedestrian only street is a waste of time, but there's a good coffee shop across from the entry to St Dunstan's Basilica ...

also rented a car from PEI Car Rental located at the Delta hotel, walking distance from the pier. Good, family-owned business that clearly gets busy on days a ship is in town, but they do their best. Drove to the Anne of Green Gables stuff, of which my wife is a modest fan. The museum and grounds were pretty good, but the national park nearby in Cavendish offers relatively little in terms of ...

This was the highlight of the cruise and the reason we booked it. My wife is an Anne of Green Gables fan and grew up on the books and movies. We did the ultimate Anne of Green Gables tour. Again, it was too short. It took maybe an hour to get to the home where the author was married and had spent time growing up. At this home you could see the body of water that was the inspiration for "the lake ...

A charming town indeed. The big attraction is the home of L Montgomery who wrote Anne of Green Gables (and a ton of other books). We grabbed a taxi at the port (again) and arranged our own tour with another couple. ...
