Got the Free shuttle to town, the only free shuttle offered on the 12 day Cruise. They dropped you off about a mile from the Ferry area, i think as an effort to force you into a Ship excursion to Amalfi or Positano. We were able to just hop on to the local bus service and went the 12 blocks to the Ferry Terminal, The Ferry to Positano is spectacular. We took the bus back the other way to the ship ...

We took the local bus to Amalfi and, of course, marveled at the beauty and the winding road.........needless to say bus driver's have to be at the top of their game. Next time we will venture out and take the ferry to Positano but had to check one of the bucket list with the local bus! ...

This was one of our favorite ports. Our excursion was not until the afternoon, so we took our own tour in the morning. We visited the tomb of St. Matthew and we toured the city on foot. They were not used to having cruise ships in port and this was very much a "local" area. We like experiencing the real culture. Shopping, restaurants, and very few english speaking people was great. ...
