Will not do the Inhaca Island trip again - was dirty - water was murky and island was dirty. Locals harassed us and became rude when we did not accept them as tour guides.

Unless you book a VIP area or get off on the first few boats to shore you will end up standing in the sun all day long.

There was insufficient seating and the braai was burnt. Also due to the numbers we ate at after 13h30 which by then a lot of the choice was finished

Turtle Beach Excursion - lack of information as in its seasonal for turtles to be seen, organisation of the excursion on Inhaca Island was very poor, no MSC representative available on Inhaca, vehicles used where in very poor conditions. Due to lack of coordinators we missed lunch after arriving too late, we only had a 500ml bottle of water from 9am to 5pm, ate once we got onto the boat. Read Less

The snorkeling was excellent although some of the gear was broken and not enough for everyone. There was nothing to drink when we got on shore because the bar was not ready for us even when we asked them nicely to help us because one of our friends was very sick. There was drinks but we where not allowed to buy jet. We waited for an hour before we left for the snorkeling and still nothing to drink.....when we finally got something to drink it was beer to buy but none of us drinks alcohol. The tour guide gave us LOCAL WATER to drink...it was bottled but we saw they where pouring it out of a well.... Read Less

The island itself is lovely with lots of activities arranged but the whole area need a lot more shaded areas in place. Unless you wanted to sit (terribly cramped with no leg room) under the thatch in a chair, the beach had no umbrellas provided for shade and it was very hot so shade was required. People going to the island are left to source an umbrella, a chair or a mat from the locals and the umbrellas they provide (at a cost) are insufficient for the African sun. Read Less

Portuguese Island excursion was average. Lounge areas are not properly laid out to accommodate all passengers. Pomene is excellent. The white sandy beaches offered good swimming.

We went by boat to Inhaca island where we were hounded by the locals there wanting to take us on a tour etc. Prior to heading over the MSC organiser did advise us of this but it was nothing like what she said. We didn't know where our guide was, there were no clear markings of which 4x4 vehicles we were looking for. It was quite scary. However, once in the '4x4' we had a rather interesting drive along sand roads to St Maria for snorkeling. The drive is a whole experience in itself (with vehicles really not up to scratch and surely maybe not even road worthy!). However, we all arrived safely. An experience we will certainly not do again but will always remember. Read Less

Unfortunately we never got onto this island but the reason for that was because of the weather , so in other words it’s great to know how thoughtful the captain is and puts his passengers safety into consideration

We enjoyed the lunch on Portuguese Island but was a bit disappointed at the excursion to Inhaca / Turtle beach. We were harassed by the local youths badgering us to allow them to take us on a tour and then wanting to haggle about the fee to be paid. There was not a clear presence of MSC assisting us to the transport. We received warm bottled water for the drive and also no opportunity to purchase the coconuts which had been noted in the initial promotion. Turtle beach is beautiful, however there were no signs of any turtles or eggs - no special pathways as noted in the promotion? Read Less

Not much to do unless you enjoy beach activities. Inhaca Island took 20 minutes to walk around as there's not much to see and an hour to get the transfer back to PI
