Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Carnival Venezia

It was a Sunday and like a number of places in Europe, not much is open on a Sunday. Took an excursion, Sete Cidades Highlights, and enjoyed the scenery very much. After we returned, we found a marina-side cafe for a snack (not very good though) and after there were only a meager handful of shops open along the main street. Really enjoyed this port! Docked right in town so walked to the fort and military museum, very interesting building and exhibits. Walked to two gardens: Jardin Borges was very surprising because in addition to trees, shrubs and flowers it had various rocky grottos - lush green foliage with steep stony steps; A few ponds hidden among the leaves. Verdant mossy walls. No entry fee. The official ...

It's a pretty place and the weather was ideal. We ended up on a Lagarto tour bus, an open-sided trolley that pipes in a pre-recorded explanation of what you are seeing in Portuguese and English. As there were no wheelchair accessible excursions provided by Regent and we could not find a cab easily, this was our best option. ...
