Lovely town. A free shuttle takes you for a short drive into town. There is a market, selling handicrafts, souvenirs and gemstones, on Sundays. Not sure if it is open on other days.

Been here many times when travelling down to Blenheim or Christchurch over the years. Still a nice little town to walk around but best thing was catching up with family from Blenheim that we don't get to see as often as we would like.

We hiked in the Victoria Domain which is accessed by a footbridge from the town centre. Beautiful! Take water as it can get warm.

This is another small port town. Most of the excursions involve wine tasting that did not suit us. We rode the complimentary shuttle bus into town and embarked on yet another hike. Since the All Aboard time was early, 3:30 p.m., we chose a short Bay/Harbour View hike. Along the way we encountered quite a few New Zealanders heading to Bob’s Bay. The harbour view from the top is as nice as expected. Note, there are also laundromats near the shuttle stop. Read Less

Hired a car from New Zealand Rent A Car . So easy as they are right next to free shuttle drop off in Picton. Only cost AUD $33 for the day. Not brand new car but nice and clean and reliable. We drove the Queen Charlotte Drive(beautiful views) to Havelock and looped back via Rapaura Rd ( cellar doors along this road) to Picton. I would recommend driving this loop in reverse as I believe views along Queen Charlotte easier to see and access from this side of road. Read Less

Took a hike along the Snout Track which was easily accessible from the shuttle stop. The hike to the lookout took about 1.5 hours and the view is spectacular

Pretty little town with a marina. Very little to do there. We took a nature walk and shopped in a grocery store. Had lunch at a local brew pub - great beer.
