The ports were great and we wanted to try a river cruise . The food was not good and if we didn’t like lunch which we did not, there was nothing other than cookies until dinner. Breakfast was good. Only 2 dinners were good. We actually lost weight on the cruise. Also not enough staff in the dining room. Cruise director and excursions were great. Great tour guides! Staff was excellent at ...
We did the Rhine Cruise a couple of years ago . Loved this cruise just as much. Were treated onboard by two incredible members of the ship’s waitstaff; Archie and Evan.
This pair smoothed out the rough spots on our trip like it was natural for them to dive in and give special treatment to guests when there was the least amount of an issue. (AC down in dining room)
Also met and ...
We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary this year and really wanted to splurge on a fabulous trip. Due to concerns over low water levels last summer and fall, we opted to book our cruise in May. As Mother Nature decided to make up for her performance last year, we had nearly a solid week of cool temperatures and sometimes heavy rains. Several of the heavier downpours occurred during our ...
Pre-cruise hotel in Munich (Hilton) was fine. We needed to place a call for A/C fan not working. Tours were good and interesting. Local restaurants were few, we needed to secure rides to get dinner.
Pre-cruise hotel in Salzburg (Sheraton) was nice and close to shopping and restaurants. Tours and tour guides were outstanding. Our Viking representative for these four days was great.
We ...
This was our second Viking Cruise. We had the same type room which did not disappoint. The cleaning staff kept our room very clean. The view of the Danube was great although when you are parked in a lock, you don’t see anything.
The excursions were well organized and interesting. We loved Vienna especially but did not feel that Slovakia offered much. I would recommend a different port. It ...
Cruise was taken with a cousin to test if we could travel together after not having traveled together for 34 years. She had gotten a Viking brochure and realized I was the only one she knew who could afford it. Unfortunately, due to other plans I wasn’t available at the time but later approached her about this Uniworld cruise which had no single supplement plus was on sale. After looking at the ...
Always heard about Viking. Overall it was a great experience very different to Ocean cruises and land travel. Jacob in the Marriott in Prague was excellent, our cabin attendant was wonderful, I sent our clothes to the laundry excellent service, Ian and Tony in the dining room were amazing, Lazlo(Leslie) in the Lounge was wonderful as well. Our entertainer Angel was great, our cruise director George ...
We have been wanting to do this cruise for sseveral years and finally did it. We were able to catch the begining of the Christmas Markets in Vienna and Budapest and they were wonderful. We are happy we did not go on the specific Christmas Market cruise since we found the same vendors and items for sale at the several we visited.
The tours were very nice and just the right length of time. We ...
Viking offered a price on a European cruise that we could afford, and we had been wanting to do a river cruise for a long time. We loved the format of the cruise, the relaxed atmosphere, adults only. We didn't have to choose expensive shore excursions, there was no high pressure sales of photos, etc., and there were no requirements on our time until debarkation. The guides on the tours were very ...
I'd been intrigued by Viking river cruises for years but thought they were a bit pricey. The deals this year have been amazing, though, so I booked two river cruises. The Rhine Getaway was nice, but it was too hot (late June) and that made it harder to enjoy the port cities/towns. The Danube Waltz in October was more fun for me. If you are cruising to see lots of castles from a distance or want to ...
