Only walked around Le Havre & the bus that took us from the city centre to the ship didn’t have a seat at the bus stop to sit on after wandering around town. Shore excursions were too expensive.

It was a long, expensive excursion to the Normandy D-day beaches which we visited only two years ago. There was a 10 hour excursion to Paris (6 hours on the bus, 4 hours in the city.) We have been there, as well, so did not do an excursion. Le Harve itself is a pretty town, nothing outstanding. Some OK souvenir shopping. A short walk from the ship for a relaxing day. Read Less

Our trip continued after the cruise and we were fighting colds so we did laundry on the ship and skipped an excursion to Honfleur we booked privately.

We felt there wasn't too much in Le Havre so took the Bee Le Havre bus to Honfluer, well worth it. Difficult to get there by public transport and very expensive by taxi.

We walked into city center which was 20-30 minute walk from port. We pre-booked round-trip transportation with BeeLeHavre to Honfleur and walked around this charming fishing village for the afternoon.

You will need the shuttle as it is not walkable, once there it is quite a nice town and there is a good shopping centre. We were lucky as there was a street market on but this is packed up by 1pm.

Not the cleanest town in France, I'm guessing, although not having been in any other French cities, I really don't know. Lots of places were closed. Had a long, uncomfortable wait in a driving rain with no shelter for a Princess shuttle. Many passenger complaints about that, especially as Princess charged us $16 each round-trip for the experience. At no other port was that the case. Nobody was happy. Read Less

the cruise director spoke against staying in La Havre but we were not inclined to take the 2 or 3 hour bus rides to Paris or Normandy. We enjoyed ourselves walking around LeHavre .

Take shuttle into the center. If you want to go further afield then you would be best taking an excursion as there is little opportunity to go further on public transport easily.
