Rivers and Castles -- Great first time experience river cruising Paris to Prague
"Just back from an AMA Waterways river cruise from Paris to Prague. In summary, it was a great cruise and AMA certainly took care of its passengers. The cruise itself is seven nights from Luxembourg to Nuremburg and..."Read More

This was our first river cruise and we put alot of thought into where we wanted to travel. We spent an extra night in Paris and stayed at the Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower. The hotel was fine - room was small but clean and functional with a partial view of the Eiffel Tower from the balcony. Front desk staff spoke English and were very pleasant. Elevators were sketchy at best. I should note that ...

This is my first Tauck trip and it did not disappoint in terms of service and the overall quality of what was offered. I did the 14 day Seine river cruise trip from Paris to London in July 2017. In practice this is only 9 days on the river boat and 5 days in hotels in Paris and London. The Tauck tour directors were helpful and friendly and I could not fault them. The whole trip was ...

We chose this cruise to see Paris and to experience the D-Day beaches at Normandy.. The ship was very comfortable and the on board service was very good. The room was clean and very comfortable with a great shower. The food was excellent. We were well taken care of by the staff. Several of the optional and included tours on shore occurred simultaneously meaning that we had to make a ...

My sister and I wanted to see some of the sights our father had seen in Paris during WWII. He always had wonderful memories and now we will as well. As our 2nd river cruise, the amenities, dining, and staff were as wonderful as the first trip. We chose a room without a balcony, however, and found less drawers available for our clothes. Shelves in the closet had to accommodate us ...

How Uniworld disappointed me

I chose Uniworld as I had had wonderful experiences with 1 Avalon cruise ship and 2 APT cruise ships in the past.I still think that River Cruising is the only way to travel. I caught a cold whilst travelling on APT and cannot speak more highly of the staff attention I received. My suite was turned into a hospital room with fresh juice, constant care, change of linen and meals delivered to my ...

We are UK residents and live about 30 miles from London. We wanted a 7-day cruise with not too far to travel, so went for 7-days Paris to Normandy & return to Paris. Used Avalon last year on the Rhine and it was great. We travelled by air then, not our favourite these days but it was good from Heathrow to Zurich and return. This year we opted for Eurostar as our only previous ...

We celebrated our wedding anniversary ('Ten on the Seine') with a river cruise. We've done quite a bit of ocean cruising (Regent, Oceania, MSC Yacht Club, NCL Haven) and had previously sailed on the Rhone River with AMA Waterways. Our overall experience on Scenic was very rewarding. The weakest link was our arrival. Paris was brutally hot when we flew in the morning of the cruise. Scenic ...

We chose this cruise for value, itinerary, timing. We opted for the three night extension in Paris at the lovely Hotel Rochester, 2 blocks from the Champs Elysee, which was expensive but included transportation, a concierge, and a terrific walking tour, so a good value. It gives you time to make sure your flight arrives in time, a chance to catch up on sleep, and an orientation. I didn't know the ...

The cruise was an introduction to the German countryside and the small towns full of history and charm. The excursions were appropriate, but there were too many castles to see. A couple of activity events would have given variety. We particularly liked the abundance of drinks and appetizers. How it was presented and served really was very nice. We enjoyed the different cuisine ...

We wanted a cruise that included both Paris & Normandy, so this one fit the bill. The ship is by far the best we have ever sailed. Although you don't spend much time in your cabin, the fact it was so relaxing, roomy, and had luxurious bathroom made it that much better. Dining was great. There was excellent variety, and the complimentary wine was good. On a previous cruise with another ...
