Visited before (in the working dock, so needed to be bussed to cruise terminal) 1st trip (allocated numbers) - shopping 2nd trip (no waiting) took 3hr trip to day tripper part of the Ilot Maître Resort - saw turtles, tropical fish, sea snake, coral - only disappointment was they didn’t have snorkels/masks until an hour in - we only had 2 for 3 of us. Noumea has often been poorly thought of by visitors but the issue of being linked to France has been started for permanent Overseas Territory and passed the first test. A person looking for change can find some newer shops past the Coconut Palm Square (west of it), and find some reasonably priced French made shoes/clothes.
