Royal Caribbean isn't what it used to be.

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

This marked our 50th cruise, many of which have been with Royal Caribbean. We went with a group of 20 people, 12 of whom were country line dancers. We left from Bayonne very excited to be going to the warm Caribbean. Embarkation went pretty smoothly except we had to go looking for our luggage down the hall and found someone else's luggage outside our stateroom. This was a first for us. Our ...

Love this ship, but two things need to be improved

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Our friends have been on this ship twice before and suggested that we book it with them. The ship was beautiful. We especially loved the Solarium, the staff was wonderful, but as I mentioned two things need to change: Casino: It should be completely nonsmoking. There was so much smoking going on, you couldn't breathe. And the crazy part is, that the staff informed us that when this ship is in ...

A large group of 18 people cruised to the Carrib5. Ma y of us were experienced cruisers and have done the same crusie in the past. Many cha ges occured. The menu in My time Dining was repeated throughout the trip. In past, you could make substitutions. If it wasn't in the menu, there was no negotiating. The food in the Windjammer was far better. The entertainers were great and I appreciate ...

This was our 2nd Royal Caribbean cruise. We've also been on NCL, Carnival, Celebrity, and MSC. The experience was ok, but compared to NCL and even Carnival, I wasn't impressed. The Good: 1. Most of the staff were very good. The MDR staff were especially good. Our waiter, Naresh, was attentive and paid close attention to my wife's gluten free requirement. She didn't get sick at all in ...

Great entertainment, gaping flaws elsewhere

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

To begin with, the cruise director said on Day 1 that the ship had reached a record in guest compliment, over 4700 guests and over 1300 children. You'd expect this to make the ship congested, but for the most part, it wasn't. There was such breadth of concurrent activities, that wherever you go, there's always room. Adventure Ocean and the Seaplex seemed to work miracles in keeping children and ...

Underwhelmed and overwhelmed at the same time

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

I didn't hate it, but I didn't come back feeling relaxed or that I had a fun time. I honestly felt stressed a lot while on the ship. Maybe The Anthem just wasn't the ship for me. It was too big, too many people and poorly laid out IMO. I haven't been on a cruise in a long time and they were mostly on smaller Celebrity ships. Around 2000 or so people. It's probably an unfair comparison. I'm ...

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

I really wanted to like RC. I really did. But several things have clinched the fact that I won’t cruise with them again. Firstly, their nickel-and-diming and high prices. ATM fee was a ridiculous 6.50. Alcoholic drinks came out to $15+ after taxes and mandatory gratuity. A soda cost over $4. And let’s not even mention the paid restaurants on board… most are $65 per person for dinner. Come on. It ...

We cruised on the Adventure of the Sea on 9/15/22, cruising up the New England coast for 9 days. We flew into Newark International Airport on the morning of the cruise and used the Royal Caribbean shuttle, $55.90 for 2 people each way, to transfer from the airport to the ship which worked out very well. The bus picked us up around 9 AM and we were on the ship around 10:30 AM. Our first port was ...

Ship in need of updating, Quality of service and food in MDR is declining

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

I have been on RCCL at least 10 times and have observed that over the last 5-6 years the quality of service in the MDR has declined. I was on Adventure in June and the service and quality of food in the MDR was better than this time just 3 months later. Their roasted potatoes are tiny taters now! The ship is showing it age. It was scheduled for refurbish and AMP Up 2 years ago during COVID ...

Lovely Itinerary but some Disappointments

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We chose this cruise because it was an easy drive from the NE and we loved the itinerary. We have sailed with Celebrity many times but felt they missed the mark on this one. Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived 15 mins prior to our scheduled time and were able to get right onboard. We had completed the online check-in (which was very easy) and were able to get right into our room. This is where ...
