Ship too crowded and staff too small

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

After this cruise, Royal Caribbean will probably our last choice for our next vacation. Our experiences were probably due to the decreased staffing and the full booking of the ship's staterooms. Other disappointments included the small dining rooms, a contrast with open expansive dining rooms of previous cruises. We had no sommolier with our dinners. On all the days except one, the dining ...

Not worth it...

Very expensive for what you get. Lines everywhere you go. You have to wait 20 minutes to get an ice cream cone, this happened several times. Outside rides were also long waits when they were running. Bumper cars were over an hour...for 5 minutes...everything was a line... Food options were minimal, the buffet was a lot of low quality food then you had to surf for a table...what a joke. Our ...

Not Enough Space, Unable to Get Reservations

This was our first cruise on a "mega" ship. Previous largest ship we'd been on was the Explorer of the Seas. This was also our first time cruising with our small child (we brought our 1.5 year old and mother (mother-in-law for me) with us). We normally cruise on Norwegian, but loved Explorer of the Seas and thought RCCL might be our new go-to cruise line. However, we'll be going back to NCL ...

Another Cruising Learning Experience

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

A mostly disappointing cruise, though after adding the pluses and minuses it did provide another learning experience which we’ll use to good advantage the next time we sail. Over the years my wife, admittedly, has been doing the heavy lifting on cruise research, bookings, etc. She’s been working the Cruise Critic boards for years, with great results. Until now I’ve been content with that ...

We chose this cruise initially because of the size of the ship and then after having researched the information on the RC site and reading reviews we wanted to try them. The fact that you pretty much have to purchase a beverage package because after a certain the doors are locked to Windjammers and other "free" eateries are closed or only serve water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and not the same ...

Embarking very organized and little or no wait time..the food in the diningroom was poor quality, steak fatty, other beef was also fatty, soup luke warm, condiments not served with the meal(an afterthought) if we ordered something special we had to wait while others at our table where finished.on the first night our waiter was not so cordial(we had our 4 grandchildren with us, guess he was not too ...

Do not choose this cruise unless you like waiting on lines

Do not choose this cruise unless you like waiting on lines and searching for tables to eat your food at meal times. 5,000 people is of no benefit except the cruise line. Look for a ship with 1,800 to 2,000 people on board. Dining especially lunch was an exercise in constantly bumping into people in an effort to get food and going from line to line Making it worse there were no trays so you could ...

Will Never Cruise Again

We chose this cruise as it was my 60th Birthday and my family wanted to do something together. It was a short cruise and we wanted to see Bermuda. Other than the Disney Cruise I don't cruise. I usually do all inclusive's in Caribbean or travel Europe. The amount of time on-line filling out all the information required, booking dinner reservations around theater times is absurd. The departure ...

we pick it because we have always cruise royal Caribbean. but the anthem of the seas was the worst service I have ever had. the food at chops was cold, servers at the windjammer were not to good at taking or orders. we ask one morning a server to get us coffee and juice for my daughter and she told me that I could get it my self? I thought they wanted to get the most tips as ...

Huge disappointment, with exception of some of the entertainment

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Celebrity Summit

User Avatar

This was our 10th cruise, our first with Celebrity. Our travel agent had, for years, recommended this line, and because it fit our timeline needs this year, we booked it. We found the cruise online and called our travel agent. Fortunately for us, she upgraded us to concierge class (we booked a balcony cabin, and concierge class gave us a few extra perks, but more on that later). Maybe best ...
