New York is a great place to begin a cruise. As always, we arrived a couple of days early and saw a couple of Broadway plays and did a bit of touring. ...

As the taxi situation is a bit unreliable at Red Hook I did buy a bus transfer from Red Hook to Penn Station. Unfortunately grossly over priced but it did the job ...

Customs and immigration was easy- we were through in a few minutes. Had a bit of a challenge locating our luggage because it wasn't deposited together. ...

The port was well staffed and folks were moved along expeditiously. Beware of the taxi & limo situation. Demand the type of car you want and ensure that the driver is prepared to accept credit cards and can make change if necessary. ...

This is where we where to board our ship. There was a lot to see around us, but we did not make the time to spend here. We wanted to get on the ship and head to the ocean. But on our way out of port, we had passed by the Statue of Liberty. This was my first time to see it in person. Now I was able to see what millions of people had viewed in our past history coming to this country. A very proud ...

Biggest problem is getting a Manhattan taxi driver prepared to drive you back over the Brooklyn Bridge! If possible get the restaurant to get a taxi for you! Hope that you don't find yourself at 6 degrees below freezing! ...
