3 in a row on this particular boat in the last 6 months. I won't get into all of the specifics, but I am a platinum member a few weeks short of being diamond. I also cruise royal caribbean and norwegian. Here are a few things that happened. A few........I could write a lot more. 1st one - room flooded. Carnival left me in a room where floor was completely wet for two days. The room smelled ...

Not so mighty Mississippi

Review for a North America River Cruise on American Queen

To start with, I tried to find Minneapolis or Red Wing as the embarkation port but was unable to find it in the drop down and it wouldn't let me enter either cities. 1. We only got travel documents after our travel agent called them days before the cruise. I guess this should have been an omen. 2. The cabin had a large patio but was mostly usuable due to their being no shade from noon to ...

The worst and most expensive cruise we have ever done

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Queen

User Avatar

This was a bucket list holiday for my husband and I travelling from Minneapolis, Minnesota to New Orleans. We paid over ÂŁ6000 each for a 14 day holiday - a majority of Americans paid $20,000 per cabin. We travelled from Redwing Minneapolis to New Orleans in an inside cabin. This was the cheapest cabin available. Our holiday started on 12th September and ended 26th September 2022. The weather ...

No air conditioning

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Valor

Just returned from 4 night cruise to Cozumel on the Valor from New Orleans. This was my 4th Carnival cruise. The 1st 3 were wonderful but I was very disappointed with this one. I’m a 45y/o woman traveling with 3 teenagers celebrating their high school graduation. My biggest complaint was the lack of air conditioning in our cabin. We were on the 8th deck with a balcony. We noticed the heat as ...

Very disappointing vacation-

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Splendor (formerly America)

Our Lower Mississippi River cruise proved to be very disappointing. ACL promised a lot. Unfortunately execution didn't match the promise. Parts of three travel days were cut short when American Cruise lines announced that the ship was going to leave ports early. The day in Natchez was supposed to continue until 9:30 PM. The ATV excursion trip was cut short when ACL announced that we needed to ...

DO NOT DRINK THE WATER!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Glory

We had not traveled on a Carnival cruise in about 8 years. Unfortunately, the level of service, amenities, and just plain safety concerns were much to be desired. Passengers were 'forced' to use the "Carnival Hub App" for all information. Wouldn't have been too bad if it worked. Many passengers had issues probably because of cell phone provider incompatibilities. We chose Anytime Dining and ...

Short Staffed

Review for a North America River Cruise on American Queen

User Avatar

For the first 4 days they were so short staffed that it was buffet only! So sick of eating lukewarm food and mass produced! Then they brought on enough workers to have service, at dinner only! Also all their other boats are fully staffed, heard that from a inside source. One bartender per bar, when they were open, should have had at least two, long lines. Wine offered? Maybe 8 types, and I can ...

5 of us traveled on the Casinos at Sea promotions. When we arrived at the port, the wait time was over 1 1/2 hours to get to a desk to check in. There was no priority line for my mother, who was in a wheel chair, nor the Casinos at Sea invited guests. It was stifling hot in the indoor area where the line was. We finally were able to board the ship, and went straight to O'Sheehan's, which never ...

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Countess

First time American Countess cruiser. I am a frequent traveler. Many cruises and adventures. Worst service and attitude from restaurant staff I have ever experienced. Dinner was served cold every night. If you miss lunch no food is available. Do not bother to ask them to replenish Worst experience ever and I have 5 days left. Marketing definitely misrepresented amenities online. Will never return. ...
