Worst Cruise Experience Ever

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Valor

I chose this cruise because I was off for Spring Break and needed a refresh. I have been on other Carnival cruises so this wasn't a first time cruise. First off, there were no welcoming vibes at all on the ship. Some staff were friendly but most weren't. The highlights were the port day excursions. The down side was too many kids running in hallways and making lots of noise. This is pure misery ...

As I completed the survey for the cruise I as onboard last week, I felt that I needed to provide my experience as I contemplate moving forward with NCL for our vacation in August of this year. I typically chalk up small inconveniences to some having a bad day and usually don't give it a second thought, but I felt I could not let these things go as things go back to "normal". Initially, I was ...

Weirdest boat layout I’ve ever experienced

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

The breakaway has such a poorly designed floor plan that I still can’t wrap my head around it. NCL put two of the smallest pools for 4,500+ people. People would be out hogging lounge chairs extremely early and they were all taken by 7 am. They wasted so much space on specialty dining that I never saw anyone in. The biggest waste of space: American Diner. I saw 8 tables being used the entire time I ...

14 cruises with NCL and this one was the worst

I had 3 cruises for my son to pick from and he picked this cruise for the ship's sports deck. We do not favor NCL new style of ships with the race track and laser tag instead of a sports deck. Also a first time for Harvest Caye . The food quality has really gone down hill. Each dinner took us 2 hours and that is just too long. Costa Maya is terrible with 3 ships in port. My family decided ...

Never again

I will not do Carnival Valor again. When we first got on , I wiped down the table and desk and the towel was black. There were stains on the wall. Mona at the Blue Iquana was rude! Never went back there for a drink. Lovell was awesome at the Frog Bar but the other crew skipped right over you. Maybe you should find better bar staff. The food wasn’t that great and the ship is very overcrowded. The ...

Valor needs a major update

We chose this cruise because of the ports as well as the embarkation port. The ports of call were fun, the tour with Jerry into Merida was so informative and had delicious food! Unfortunately besides Scarlett’s steakhouse on the ship that was the only food with any taste we had. Our cabin steward Ani was great but the dinner service was terrible. The whole boat needs a deep clean and the windows ...

We give this 2 stars an here why 1. The food was disgusting You had to wait in line for almost an hour to get your food . 2. The entertainment was very poor They had very few activities. 3. The drinks for water down and the can drinks for a flat! The alcohol was fantastic 4. Carnival valor we overcrowded they started to run out of food three days in to our cruise 5. There was no ...

Major disappointment

Review for a North America River Cruise on Viking Mississippi

We had a trip booked on the Rhone river for two consecutive years, cancelled by Viking due to Covid. Viking would not return our money or all the money we had spent on upgraded airline tickets, so this was our next alternative. Viking was willing to return $400 a piece for the thousands we had paid in advance, or accept their vouchers. Embarkation took all day. Basically we hung around in a ...

This was my 8th cruise, 6 with NCL. First time on the breakaway. Worst cruise ever. Cruise was full but that's ok. However definitely not enough staff, wait time in line for a drink 20 to 40min. Buffet was so so. Definately not as good as ncl gem. Dinner reservations usually full unless you want to eat after 9pm. Some rooms didn't get cleaned, again not enough staff. One ship engine ...

Grandkids were out for the week and live near New Orleans so thought a cruise would be great. Long lines at the port took a 30 minute check in usually into a 1.5 hour process. Found out that if grandkids are not Platinum then you don't get Priority check in. Most 10 year olds haven't cruise enough. Here is somthing I found out the hard way . We had booked two Balcony connecting rooms ...
