Review for a North America River Cruise on Viking Mississippi

We were on a previous Viking Ocean cruise and it was great. Since we live in Florida during the winter, we thought that it would be fun to go to New Orleans and then cruise the Mississippi. We flew on our own with another couple to New Orleans with Southwest Airlines. The flight was on time, the plane had great leg space, and service was superb. We stayed at the Westin Hotel for two nights (those ...

Radiance Not Exactly Radiant

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

My wife and I have been on over 30 cruises with all the major criuse lines. We were diappointed in the recent cruise with RCL on the Radiance of the Seas. I understand the ship is some twenty years old and some things are just inherent with age. Some of our are issues are with the ship and others with the overall management of the ship. * We waited from 8:30 am until almost 12 noon for the ...

We choose this cruise for the holidays with my elderly mother, she no longer wants to fly internationally, and wanted to try Viking, this fit the bill. We were scheduled to go to Nola one day early, our TA worked with Viking to get us in 2 days early and beat the storm. Precruise at the Westin New Orleans was very nice and Viking reps were present and helpful. Embarkation was quick and we ate ...

Lots of positives, a few big negatives.

Well I'm back. Been home for about 18 hours. It was a pretty great cruise. Wonderful people, great food, fantastic excursions. Staff were phenomenal. Really above and beyond. Already replied to my survey with NCL and identified two great crewmembers that made my cruise better. Two downers for me, though. First, I was in a Solo Studio Cabin. Tiny and without a window, but I knew that ...

Disappointed with Several Things on This Cruise.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Valor

The main reason this cruise was chosen was location. Being the first cruise since covid, this was a family cruise with 12 of us and was the closest since all were driving. We all parked at the Fulton Garage. That worked out great with the free shuttle. Boarding went fairly quick. Lido was open for lunch but only one elevator at all 3 locations working as the rest were being used to load ...

Service was very slow at dinner in the Restaurant almost every evening. I did not like that we were assigned a time for dinner at the same table every evening with the same guest. You are assigned a 5:30 pm or 7:45 pm seating. I wanted to go on a cruise to socialize with other guest. Entertainment was good. The design of the Living Room where the entertainment was located had blocked views so you ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Carnival Glory

Chose this itinerary based on only 14 day out of NOLA. Do not enjoy Jamaica anymore but wanted to experience Panama Canal and Limon Costa Rica. Really enjoy Bonaire as we love to snorkel at Klein Bonaire. We also became Platinum on Carnival this cruise and we’re eager to see what perks this would bring. The good: Embarkation was easy and though we arrived 30 min ahead of our appointed time ...

Cigarette smoke odor

The casino (deck 7) with smoking allowed is open to the main public areas of decks 6 and 8. Cigarette smoke was a major problem for my wife (only distasteful for me) and she could not go anywhere on decks 7 and 8 between the forward and aft elevators. Deck 6 was not quite as bad as the odor from deck 7 mainly spread up and not down. I was able to explore on my own at varying times and the odor of ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Glory

My Stateroom attendant Tony and Dining room Gusti Waiter was the best, I looked forward to seeing them everyday. They made my experience great. Although the food was not the best, i quickly learned to order over easy, hard fried or boiled eggs to get good ones. The scrambled eggs are horrible. on Lido, the pizza is horrible. Missing so many items I'm use to. The drinks were very watered down. ...

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Heritage (formerly Queen of the Mississippi)

User Avatar

We wanted to travel on the Mississippi and learn about the South and the Civil War. The cruise and the excursion were reasonably good. but the last day was a disaster. We docked in Tunica Mississippi which was 45 miles from downtown Memphis. We were not advised of this change in advance and had signed up for two bus tours to see Memphis and the museums. We spent over four hours total driving ...
