Naples is a really busy and intense town. We had some great pizza, almost got robbed, got an invitation to join a strange man on his vespa to go for "some pasta and naughty stuff". The city is really vibrant, smelly, intense, beautiful and ugly. It can really be a hit or miss depending on wht direction you decide to walk. ...

Princess excursion to Sorrento and Pompeii. It was a free day at Sorrento and a guided tour of Pompeii. Sorrento was most enjoyable (and the weather wasn't hot either!). Enjoyable day (even if a bit long). ...

Naples is a nice port to explore by yourself, on foot. Go get an espresso or a pizza and walk around the old town. It's dirty in some areas, but once you're inside the old town, most of it is ok. IMHO the coffee alone is worth it. ...

Pompeii is another must-see, and it's big enough that you could spend most of the day here if you're into the history. Sorrento was nice enough, and Positano is worth visiting vs. observing from a nearby overlook. You need to book a private tour to go there, and it will take all day. I'd like to see Naples itself on another visit. The traffic was bad sometimes and our driver knew how to get around ...
