We did a walking tour here. Went to the local museum to watch a film about the earthquake that mostly destroyed Napier in 1931. The town was rebuilt in Art Deco style of the period and mostly preserved ever since.

We took the free shuttle into town. The down was rebuilt, largely in Art Deco style, following an earthquake in the early 20th century.

Have not been to Napier for a number of years, some cool little shops and again nice to catch up with family hat I have not seen for many years.

Fun. Got caught in rain and got very wet in spite of rain coat. The tour company was very good. Would have liked to move a little faster.

We did a self guided bike tour to Elephant Hill winery where we had a fine dining lunch and were picked up by the bike company. Great day out which I booked before online.

We did not get off the ship until almost 10 a.m. to take the complimentary shuttle into town. With an all aboard time being 3:30 p.m. again, we stayed around the first stop and got nice pictures at Hawke’s Bay and the Sunken Garden. We also visited the museum (free entry and free WiFi). The rest of the time was spent shopping and eating. The pies (steak, butter chicken and apple & custard) at Jesters were pretty good. The crust was not as flaky as I like. Read Less

Tour operators were lined up in the city. It was easy to find an interesting experience at a reasonable price.

With a local driver we saw a lot of great places and we are able to stop and take photos on all places we like. The price was significantly lower than booked with HAL

Got the shuttle bus into town, and had a walk around the shopping precinct. Had a coffee in a cafe with free WiFi. Bought a couple of souvenirs. Then back on the shuttle bus to the ship.

Napier is an art deco town, rebuilt after a massive earthquake last century. We did not visit Napier this time, preferring to stay on the ship.
