We spent 4 days here after cruise too. Great French City. Lots of construction though so not as pretty as Quebec City. Traffic is terrible but great parks and amazing architecture. Polite people and just a great city. Would be 5 rating if not for tons of construction. ...

Like Quebec City, this port is easy to do on your own, walking, it is safe, or combine with a private tour. The food options are enormous. The Basilica is a must see, there are interesting shops, museums, and parks. Natives speak both French and English. Allow 2-3 nights minimum if you want a good sense of this city. ...

We couldn't visit Montreal since the water level was too high for the ship to pass under the bridges. Instead we had to dock at Three Rivers, an industrial town about 100 miles from Montreal. We could not leave the ship. We were bussed to Montreal airport for our flight home. Traffic was heavy and route was industrial/commercial and took over 3 hours. ...
