Staff Was Terrific But Cruise Missing A Lot

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Celebrity Summit

User Avatar

Over 20 cruises with Celebrity. No typical champaign greeting...No playing cards at the concierge. No invitations to anything. The maitre de went far beyond the call of duty, as did the waiters...but all their fine service couldn't help the flavorless food and lack of choices. The entertainment in the bars and lobby areas were tolerable, but the stage performances were lackluster. The ...

Carnival doesn't do well with bigger ships

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Celebration

For our first cruise with Carnival, we decided to go with a bigger, newer ship and landed on the Celebration. Previously cruising on a mid size ship with NCL, we noticed the differences immediately. This main point of this review is the poor ship design and how inefficient Carnival is with larger ships. We spoke with many guest who have sailed with Royal Caribbean and all of them said that ...

Very poor all around.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Celebration

Bigger isn't better! The food was not good at all, no Dr Pepper, the soda machines were down more than not, poor service, bar tenders with bad attitudes, nobody came around to take your drink orders, very bad! When you went from bar to bar the drinks were made differently. We got a blue Hawaiian made 3 different ways on the same boat! No music playing in bars. All the food tasted the same, very ...

Not the Best Cruise Experience

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Gem

The staff were friendly and helpful. For the most part, waiters were attentive, but the food left a lot to be desired. I’m not a picky eater, but I had trouble finding one entree that appealed to me each evening in the main dining room. The best dessert was usually the sherbet or ice cream choice. I got food poisoning the third day of the cruise as did another guest I talked to. Since the food is ...

Multiple Disappointments

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Celebration

My wife and I aren’t wealthy, we don’t normally do a cruise every year. We’ve gone on several Carnival cruises since our first aboard the Conquest in 2004, and up to this point have really enjoyed them all. On Sunday we disembarked from our sixth cruise, aboard the Carnival Celebration. Although we overall enjoyed the cruise, things on Carnival have changed quite a bit in the last 20 years, and ...

We chose the cruise because of the reviews but the fact is we had the opposite experience than what was projected via reviews be it YouTube or written. First, the bathroom in the room from what we saw and read were allegedly comparable to other cruise lines. This is not so I stand 5’4” 145lbs and couldn’t walk directly into the shower stall had to turn sideways and if you are 6’ plus there will be ...

Used to be a good line - bye bye Oceania for us

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oceania Vista

Skipped our favorite port ( St Barts ) and one other. Second time this has happened to us with Oceania, and definitely the last. Problems with our suite - too cool day one ( replace units in ceiling ) too hot day two ( replaced units again). Not working day 3 - finally got a capable mechanic who took about 15 seconds to fix the problems. Noise above our heads ( dining area that is NOT open at ...

Unfortunate Experience

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Encore

User Avatar

This was my first cruise on Norwegian. I expected a great experience but what we got was not that. First let me say that our room steward was wonderful. The beds are hard and as I am 4 months out from a knee replacement, I was having trouble sleeping on the hard mattress. My steward got an egg crate and put it on the bed which made a huge difference. He kept our room spotless. Next lets talk ...
