Be sure you arrive much earlier than what the MSC tickets state. We arrived at 3:30-3:40 and they were locking the front doors. The security staff were extremely unfriendly and I felt as though I were about to go to prison rather than on a cruise. When we made it upstairs the gentleman checking us in must have seen how nervous we were and he took his time checking us in and making friendly conversation. However, after we left the check-in that same feeling continued. Read Less

The ports of call were shabby and poor. The poor locals swarmed us for money. It was a disheartening experience, but not unexpected. We purchased souvenirs in an effort to support their economy.

The ship's excursions were limited and expensive. We left the ship as well as the immediate port vendors and hired a taxi for a custom tour for four that cost $80. The ship's tours were silly expensive.

Just took and Uber from MIA to the Port. Had a porter tell us "for $10 I may not lose your bag on the pier" after we had tipped him $5 for 2 bags.

I lived in Miami for years. The traffic is awful, the people are rude, and it's not worth your time to do anything here unless you're getting drunk or going to the beach.

Never a fan of Miami, probably because its the longest drive for us and the drive through Miami is not great. The parking garage is an absolute nightmare as well.

When we got off the shuttle at the miami port the guy who works for the ship literally asked us for money. We literally hardly had time to stand on our two feet and look around before he grabbed our suitcase and asked for tip!!! Which irritated me beyond words! IF I WANT TO TIP I WILL TIP YOU. DO NOT BEG ME FOR MONEY. I am not even sure if he was the one who took our bags to the ship. He took our suitcase and put it on a cart which was next to him! Port of Miami disorganized, and riddled with traffic gridlock. Expect to sit in traffic for 2 hours just to get to the ship and park. If you miss your first loop around, expect to miss the cruise.
