Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Encore

This was my wife's and I fourth cruise with NCL. We have done the Getaway, Bliss, and Encore twice. Embarkation: This took longer than before. We were at the port by 10 am and got group 6 to go on. We were on the ship by 11:45. Once there, we headed up to the American Diner for lunch and had a terrific meal. Cabin: Our cabin was a great spot on the ship. Our steward Putu, did an amazing ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Gem

It has been a LONG time since we have been on NCL and it will just as long before we return. While the Gem itself is a nicely appointed in the common areas and the main dining room was quite nice, service support outside of the room attendant who was excellent was hit and miss. Some of the wait staff in both the main dining areas and specialty were quite good and others acted like newbies which ...

Great staff, but horrible tech

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Scarlet Lady

We were looking for something beyond the traditional cruise experience with a group of adult friends. Virgin Voyages markets itself, like the Virgin brand has historically done in other markets, as doing cruising differently or reinventing the cruise. Indeed, they have done many things different from a traditional cruise. Some of those things you will like and others you might not. Of course, ...

Good cruise hampered by poor staff

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

We chose a short cruise to see if we enjoyed it. Overall, it was a fun voyage, but we had consistent issues with staff, most notably the person traiging dinner guests on deck 3 on all 3 nights of our cruise. This individual was apathetic at best and openly hostile and antagonistic at his worst, and marred what otherwise would have been a lovely anniversary dinner. Royal Caribbean did not respond ...

Deck 14– room under a galley in the observation lounge

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Encore

The ship is beautiful. We thought the staff and service was great although many people onboard disagreed. Good food options, as a picky eater I was always able to find something I liked. The pool deck is definitely way too small. Not enough room to put an adequate amount of chairs and loungers. If you want a lounger, be out by 7am. They try to make up for the lack of space by cramming regular ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Celebration

Having cruised on the original Excel class ship (Mardi Gras) in 2022, we were looking forward to sailing on the Celebration, expecting similar entertainment quality and value. We got a big shock concerning the entertainment offerings shortly after departing. The shows featured at the center stage (the three-deck atrium) were very lackluster in comparison. There may have been a technical issue ...

I chose this cruise because if all the hype about the food. I was unfortunately disappointed in the food at the specialty restaurants and would have rather just eaten at the galley. The service was very slow and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason how the food came out of the kitchen. When at the Wake and Extra Virgin people that showed up later would get their food before people that had ...

Scarlet Lady Mega Rock Star review (Feb 2024)

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Scarlet Lady

First cruise with VV. Boat is only 2 years old and in sparkling condition. Layout did not lead to getting to know others as easily as I would have hoped. As Mega Rock Stars we had access to Richard’s Rooftop which had seating and a bar. The seats were circular and were better for privacy. With Mega Rock Star status we had a personal driver from hotel to ship, early check in and easy boarding ...

We were really expecting a lot on our first Virgin cruise and maybe thats where it went wrong but all the reviews and the language the company uses- we were super excited. PROS: Embarkation was a breeze and the cabins are ready as soon as you board- this is a huge deal because you can relax, get organized, go to the bathroom, etc. You are given a time to board and they really go by it which ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Joy

I booked this cruise about 5 months ago to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I bought it on a supposed “sale”. When things were done, the sale price was inflated by almost $ 1000. I bought a balcony cabin with the drinks package ( they then upcharge you on that to include tips - you have no option to decline that charge, so that pads the bill) and it does not cover all tips or taxes. They also threw ...
