Not up to expectations.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Joy

We booked the Haven experience on the NCL Joy over eight months ago. We are Platinum on NCL and have sailed on most of their ships (some twice) and had mostly positive experiences. Previously we had sailed on MSC Yacht Club (twice) and just loved it. I presumed that NCL’s Haven would be the same although it is a lot more expensive now and we knew we could not afford it again. We arranged ...

My best friend and I do a birthday cruise every 5 years or so, and we had been on this ship 6 years ago-pre-COVID. We were very surprised and how dated the ship was this year, needs lots of TLC. This is my ninth cruise on various cruise lines. Pros: Cabin steward was excellent and friendly. Dining room staff phenomenal. Veteran's tribute was lovely with a live band playing all the ...

We just took this three-day cruise and while we had fun and enjoy Coco Cay, I wouldn't recommend this cruise to anyone over 40. There were LOTS of young children on board (I stupidly thought that since school was in session that people wouldn't bring many kids) and LOTS of very young people. This is fine, but there were so many more than expected. This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise so ...

Not Impressed

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Sky

We have sailed with NCL before, including a wonderfull Alaska Cruise on the Pearl. The Sky looks good from the aesthetic stand point, and eventhough is an older ship, the sice and public spaces were to our liking. The boarding process in Miami was spotless, and perhaps the best of all of our sailings. It is noticeable that NCL has donde a great job with the personel at their terminal, including ...

Have sailed CARNIVAL annually since 1984. Sold cruise for 12 years after 30 yr. nursing career. Ship is beautiful. You could use an app for literally everything. My 2 friends downloaded it but I prefer not to have my face glued into a screen as I enjoy the people & world around me. In the main dining room when you asked for a REAL menu it takes several minutes for them to locate same. One ...

Great Sail But Short of Excellent

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Scarlet Lady

The room was too small. The test kitchen food was unacceptable. The price of drinks and amount of beverage was unacceptable. The retailers were misleading in duty fees. The linens were never changed in our room. The Wifi was terrible. the Galley food was very good. The massage service was horrible. I don't want to negotiate my massage services. I don't want to be sold more products after my ...

My cruise was good but not great because I felt like it could have been better. Great and relaxing way to board the ship because it was so easy getting on and off once we got on and got to our room things continued to go well. I didn't like that we had to reserve the shows....We booked our cruise about 3 weeks prior to the cruise and all the shows were booked . I talked to other guest they said ...

A downgrade from NCL's larger ships

We chose the cruise based upon the itinerary and the length of the cruise. We knew that some of the options would be limited. Having less people made it more relaxing and easier to get around, up and down throughout the ship. The glass elevators were elegant and fun. The buffet was much more limited than other NCL ships. The aft deck is recommended for buffet dining, as the indoor dining area ...

My wife and I chose this cruise because we wanted to try a Virgin Cruise. We are very avid cruisers and have taken over 20 cruises in the past. The good is embarking and disembarking system is excellent as is the wrist band. The food selection is very good and we loved that the restaurants are all different. The Galley was also very good. The staff is super helpful but when you ask about certain ...

GRAND CONCEPT – BUT KEY FUNCTION LOST IN TRANSLATION

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Scarlet Lady

TL;DR Virgin Voyages (VV) “Scarlet Lady” is a foodie’s dream come true. Communication before and during the cruise is horrible almost beyond description. Context: I’m retired from the travel industry after a 35 year career, and have done 21 cruises. Nobody needs another blog post; details about ship design, pool size, cabin amenities, entertainment, etc. can be derived from other ...
