I am a long seasoned cruiser, and have travelled the Caribbean on most cruise lines, including MSC. My prior experience on an MSC ship was good. I wish I could say the same for the Meraviglia. I was on her this past December, and though I liked the food and the service, and the shows, I cannot recommend her to friends. Here is why.
First, the congestion on the main promenade deck is ...
We have travelled Norwegian a few times and it has always been good - very underwhelmed by new boat expected more. We had booked a back to back and we were a little disappointed that we had. You had to book for shows never done that before and only found out later there was a standby line. Comedy shows very repetitive they need new material. Choir of Men amazing ! Beyond words made our trip! Kinky ...
I will start with a positive. The Ship was clean and pretty and getting on an off the boat could not have been easier. The staff did their job but weren't overly friendly. I laid my eyes on the cruise director once which was disappointing because I think they should be an big part of the cruise. I guess having Matt Michem from Carnival as a cruise director would be hard to ever beat. The ...
I traveled with my wife and adult children. I watched a lot of reviews but somehow missed that the encore shows and dining reservations fill up the first few hours. The 1st full day of the cruise almost every show was full. I did make one reservation for the teppanyaki restaurant before we left home, it was the best place we ate. The above information is what you need to know from this ...
We chose this cruise ship because it was brand new. We have sailed on many cruises 20+ and several have been on NCL. First of all - The coffee was terrible! Thankfully, there was a Starbucks on board (of course, you had to pay extra for it, even the staff was in there buying coffee!) I booked a trip for my family with two rooms. We had our two daughters - one is married so we had a room for ...
Caribbean cruise to San Juan, St. Thomas and Tortola with NCL. Overall okay but not worth the money. The pool was either closed or half full of water. When open, the water was ice cold. The big water slide was closed on the entire cruise. Paying an extra $1000 for family access to the Mandarin Spa, you would NOT expect it to be overfilled with people and the toilets not working. Paying through the ...
Went with a group of 20. The food was bland at best and NEVER changed. The same meals everyday all day. The talent was poor and to even try to enjoy yourself you have to upgrade to drink packages. I have never been around so many ignorant ppl. The staff did not control traffic at all. The buffet lines were always packed, ppl cutting in front of others, waiting for more food and ppl walking around ...
The MSC Seaside is an average cruise. Not horrible, not amazing. I’ll resume my experience in pros and cons:
Pros:
- It has toboganes de agua, they are very fun and free.
- The buffet food is good, although is not very variada.
- The Ocean Cay MSC Bahamas has an included buffet on the island.
- Most rooms are spacious and comfortable.
- Most of the staff is friendly.
Meh: ...
I should start off by saying that I've been on most of the major American cruise chains out there that sail out of Miami (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity) on multiple sailings but this is my first experience with MSC, and it was a total disappointment compared to the other lines.
The Bad:
The embarkation process was slow and painful. There were huge lines at the new cruise ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to go through the Panama Canal and had been to most of the Mexican ports that would be covered by a cruise starting or ending in California. We were particularly interested in the Colombian ports, which were cancelled two weeks before our sailing date and NCL would refused to let us cancel and get our money refunded. Supposedly the ship had "mechanical ...
