The dock is far from the port entrance, meaning that you can’t walk and it’s mandatory to take a trolley. Expect to take a long trip to your excursion. ...

Efficient getting on and off ship. Port is a little far from the town proper, but cabs were plentiful and were $15-20 each way (and we didn't haggle). Mazatlan is a good mix of new and old. Beaches are excellent -- much better than P.V., IMO. ...

We always love Mazatlan. This happened to be the last day of Carnival so many streets were closed for the parade. WE made our way to our favorite places and back to the ship early not to get caught in the parade traffic. ...

Shore excursions got a bit pricier and shorter. Had 8 hours there and beach excursion stopped after only 4.5 hours. So pay attention to the time better than I did. Working port so have to take transport that everyone wants tipped on. Nice shopping before getting on the ship. Drinks. Well done. ...

At this port, we took the hop on, hop off bus. The bus drove past some poor and run down areas, and instead of being put off, I found it refreshing to see something other than an area only for tourists. We had a lovely lunch at a beachside restaurant. ...

We found a legit place in the market to buy a silver bracelet at a fraction of the cost of the tourist places and some other places. Then the locals told us of a seafood place on the ocean. Got BBQ shrimp. I am not fond of shrimp, but it is local and it was amazing. ...
