We've stayed on Maui before so we only signed up for the Lahaina shopping tour which was fine...pretty port but commercialized area as one would expect. ...

LOVED Maui! Spent 2 days in Lahaina, took the public transit bus #28 to the beach (whalers wharf) for $4 and had an amazing time! Would highly recommend touring on your own, the ship tours offered are crazy expensive! ...

Lahaina was our favourite port in Hawaii, and we enjoyed walking around the port area, eating, and sampling the various beverages. We also visited the Maui gold plantation which was also excellent. ...

There is a ...

In this port, we had booked an excursion with HAL to go to the summit of Haleakala, a trip which is practically a pilgrimage for me. This is the tour HAL canceled less than five days before embarkation. We were just going to walk through Lahaina, a town we already know very well, but after our Kauai experience we thought we should try to do more. We booked the only "bus to Hana" trip which was ...

Day 1 Maui - arranged for a rental at Cruisin' Maui, meeting our driver at Whole Foods, where he picked us up and took us to sign paperwork at this 'office' near the Food Tricks, near the Costco gas station. Informal but still professional, would highly recommend. (tip- remember to turn ON your cell phone so they can communicate with you in real time.) You can also rent water gear and coolers ...

Our last Hawaiian stop was Maui. Our ship docked in the industrial port of Kahului instead of tendering into Lahaina due to construction work at the Lahaina dock. This was actually better for us. While Lahaina is charming, tendering is a pain and time consuming. Kahului is much closer for driving to the Road to Hana and Haleakala. We had a car reserved with Thrifty (this was the only port we ...
