We rented a car and drove to Twin Falls. Great hike, beautiful scenery. Visited Paia and other local sites. Parked the car at the Whole Foods lot overnight with no problem. On the second day we went on a tour and tasting at Panacea Palms Coconut Farm. Great tour, learned so much about the history not only of coconuts but the role they played in early civilization. Tasted lots of water directly from the coconut at various stages of growth (yes, it does taste different depending on age). Also made coconut milk that you could take with you. It was a great tour, highly recommend it. The facilities are beautiful, great place for a small wedding if you are in the market. We booked this on our own via the internet. Read Less

We've been to Lahaina before, and done tours including an excellent helicopter tour or snorkelling at Kaanapali. This time, we opted to simply wander around Lahaina, eat ice cream and visit the nearby beach.

Maui was beautiful. We rented a car and drove ourselves to the Plantation and Iao Valley as well as Paia and did part of the road to Hana. We loved the Iao Valley park. Easy stop and didn't take very long to visit. Parking can be an issue though. The Tropical Plantation was very nice but I thought the tram ride was expensive for how short it was . $20 per person for a 30 minute tour was a bit much. You can walk part of the grounds yourself if you don't want to do the tour. Very picturesque. Paia was a great stop - Cute town and we had a nice lunch at Charley's. we did part of the road to Hana. The drive was not bad at all. We didn't find anything overly special. We did make a stop and got some yummy banana bread. Twin falls was nothing really special . We did go to Lahaina the next day and we really had the best time. The Banyan tree was amazing and the town was great to walk around in. Read Less

Took a non-Princess 2.5hr quick West Maui SUV tour (covers the northern end). Something we hadn't seen before. It was nice. Ate local food at 808 Grindz.

Tender port. Tenders drop you in the heart of downtown Lahaina. A little too commercial for my tastes. I met up with friends and walked back to the tender pier. No excursions, because I've been here before.

We rented a car and parked it at the airport overnight. We checked out the island on the first day and bodysurfed. The second day half of our group golfed and the other half took a private humpback whale tour with Ultimate Whale Watch. It was an amazing tour and our guide and boat were awesome. We were very lucky because several humpback whales were being active and 2 even kept swimming under and around our boat. I think the smaller size of the tour/boat made the difference and I highly recommend them if you are there the right time of year. Read Less
