Hired a car and went up the volcano. Very misty and wet and hard to see the crater. If you want to see the sun rise you must book three days in advance. Drove Hana road . Very scenic. Very limited shops but nice to drive around. ...

Maui was awesome! I downloaded an audio driving tour from Shaka Guide. They have several aps for the Hawaiian Islands. I downloaded The Road to Hana and it was FANTASTIC! It is a GPS ap so as you drive, the ap tells you what is around you and where to go next. We also got up VERY early and drove to Mt. Haleakala to watch the sun rise. So beautiful! ...

Used the Shaka Guide to do the Road to Hana and the Halekala National Park tours. They were both great although it was cloudy for Halekala so we didn't get a good look at the crater. The Road to Hana was great but you have to be OK with a very windy (600+ sharp curves each way), narrow road. Not for the faint of heart, but also much more fun in a rental car than on a bus. ...

Visited our favorite beaches/snorkel sites- Kapalua and Honolua. Parking always difficult here. And if you aren't parked by 8:45am forget it till the afternoon. We're happy doing some of the easy park beaches south of Kaanapali till our fav beaches parking opens up. ...

We booked our own reservations for the Old Lahaina Luau. I'm disappointed Oceania didn't offer anything like this. We didn't leave Maui until 11:00 p.m. and a Luau would have been a terrific excursion. So glad we went on our own as did a few other passengers. ...

We hired a car before the cruise and were collected by the shuttle which took us directly to the airport desk. We were off to Lahaina within 20 minutes for a drive of about one hour. Lots to do in Lahaina including a self guided tour of the town. Be sure to visit the banyan tree behind the courthouse where you can sit and relax. When driving back to port do not take the road via Kapalua to ...
