We decided to pay $8 to ride the ferry to the beach. My boy and I apparently were the only one’s who enjoyed it because we were combing the beach for sea glass. Read Less

Berth was further from main downtown area than with an cruise earlier this year with P&O. I suspect MSC use this cruise terminal as it is much better laid out to disembark and embark the mainly French speaking cruisers who leave and join the cruise here. Very long day in port. It was a 15-20 min walk into town which has good shopping, cafe's and bars. Just like a typical French city in fact. Good idea to bring euros with you as well as dollars for the other islands. We took the Water Taxi over to the Anse L’ane beach. The ship docked at the dock outside of the main city, so it is about a 15 minute walk to the other pier where the Water Taxi was. Water Taxi Fee was 5 dollars each way. We got off at the first stop, which was less crowded and less commercialized then the beach at the second stop. This beach had some great snorkelling. Read Less

We were not impressed with Martinique. We thought we would just do some shopping since we were only there a short time but we didn't feel that the island was tourist friendly.

We tried to hire a driver to take us around the city but NO ONE would help us because there was only 2 of us. There is nowhere to go here and nothing to see. The only things they provide is taking you to another island for a beach day we didn't want to do that. We were off ship for an hour and went right back on people were rude. I would never go back to this place again. Seemed most people on ship had the same experience because the ships pools were packed by noon. Read Less

We walked ashore and went to the shops at the end of the pier. Saw some nice stuff but when we made a purchase learned that everything is sold in Euros. As a result we were overcharged for paying in US dollars. Credit cards are not used because of damage to the system caused by the storms. There were shuttles available to the beaches that looked interesting. We went downtown and over to the fort for sightseeing. Nice place. Read Less
