This review is for the optional excursion to the village of Cassis, which we adored. Charming seaside town nestled into cliffs along the Mediterranean, from which we took a boat ride to explore inlets and coves. Things were disorganised when disembarking. We were given incorrect directions to find the little tourist train. If you wanted to take the hop on hop off bus, you had to walk and find where the tickets were sold and go back to the bus. Wasn't really in the mood to explore Marseille, but had to chaperone teenage son to the shops, so can't really comment. It's a long way from cruise terminal to city waterfront, and route goes though industrial port areas and along dual carriageways, so you cannot really avoid a rip off shuttle bus fare if you want to visit the place. ...
