Valletta, Malta - we didn't take a tour but walked onto the port and stopped for a local beer and just looked around. It was a pleasant change from rushing to take a tour. Enjoyable ancient city. ...

Malta was really interesting. Lots of history here. Definitely on our list of places to visit again. The late departure should have allowed enough time for some food in town, but we didn't want to risk missing the ship. ...

We took the open top bus tour €22 each from near the ship, round the south of the island, as this was due to depart imminently. We didn't realize that it was a three hour trip! But it didn't give us a very good impression of Malta, driving round run down back streets in Valetta, out through heavily built up areas and scabby farmland to the industrial port of Marsaxloxx, then back past the Blue ...

Our first excursion was the 4-hour “Mdina & Mosta Tour;” this was rated moderate and required about 0.9 mile of walking. The first tour stop was at the Mdina Glass factory, where an artisan was shaping glass bars into animals (no glass blowing demonstration because of COVID-19). There was time to shop here and brief shopping opportunities later at the Mosta Church and the Cathedral for those who ...

We booked an electric buggy that included a sat nav for four people. It was great fun, didn’t go above 15 MPH, and had some hair raising manoeuvres in tight, steep, ancient cobbled streets! That was on the other side of Valetta Harbour. We then strolled round Valetta itself, as we had been previously. ...

Always worth having a walk around Valetta and we've done many tours in the past. The only criticism we have is that it was necessary to walk around a km to get out of the port and to the elevator up to the town - when the elevator was actually only a few metres from where we were moored! We know several elderly and partially handicapped passengers who tripped on the walk or just couldn't make it. ...
