Lovely Family Cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Marella Discovery 2

The check in process was very quick and we were on board the ship very quickly. Our cases were taken onboard for us and were waiting outside our cabin for us. The Atlantic ocean for the first 2 days was very windy and rough and not that enjoyable and I was actually cold. You couldn't actually sit up on the deck as it was too windy and all the sun beds blew away. I had to take sea sickness pills ...

25th wedding Anniversary so we though we would do something different. Chose the Vigo/Porto/Lisbon/Cadiz/Gibraltar. The Atlantic bit to Portugal very windy and rough but luckily we didn't get seasick! We paid extra to have a balcony cabin which was still tiny but glad we had a bit more room than other cabins. Although the lady (Baby) who cleaned obviously only gave the room a lick and a promise as ...

Firstly this is our 14th Thomson Cruise, but our first on the new type of Thomson ship (Discovery 1 or 2) and we were excited to see how the new generation of ship had changed. First impressions were excellent, the ships interior was very impressive and our deck six balcony cabin was clean, contemporary and had more than enough space. The balcony had a small table and two chairs, more than enough ...

Happy We Discovered Discovery 2

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Marella Discovery 2

We choose this cruise solely because of the itinerary. We didn't want to have to use ship excursions to enjoy ourselves and this really did fit the bill. We were able to do our own thing at every port and enjoyed ourselves doing so - it was really easy. Balcony cabin 7600 was a good size and kept spotlessly clean by steward. Was pleasantly surprised by size of bathroom and shower. Weather was ...

All in all a very enjoyable cruise but despite being "Fully Refurbished" i dont think enough attention was paid to the actual cabins, the seals around the shower were greying and mouldy but that said the bathroom was kept clean and fresh towels given daily so only a small gripe there. My biggest bug bear was the water, having paid for an all inclusive cruise the bottled water was not included and ...

Smooth Sailing Over the Atlantic

I wanted to do a Transatlantic and the price was really good on this one. I don't usually sail on Royal, but I couldn't say no to this cruise. The ship itself was wonderful and the crew was fantastic! The only real downfall in my estimation was the dining. What I really enjoyed was the friendliness of the staff from the room stewards to the Captain. They worked very hard to keep us happy and ...

We embarked in Malaga 2 days ahead of the main embarkation in Barcelona. We flew in with Ryan Air from Liverpool and arrived in Malaga at 11.15 am. We took a taxi to the port which cost 24 euros and we were at the port by 11.40 pm. We dropped our suitcases off outside and were given our stateroom number. As we had booked last minute we were guaranteed an inside cabin and that was all we knew! ...

Only our second cruise & must admit we'll cruise again. Booked this with a cruise travel agent: Flights from/to Malaga was with a low cost airline which was pleasent enough & arrived on time Transfer both ways via air conditioned taxis was good. Note" leaving the port at Malaga to return back to the airport, the taxi was booked too early & we had to stay at the airport for several hours prior ...

Most enjoyable cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

We joined the Norwegian Spirit in Malaga as we live close by. This was a late booking, incentivised by all the New Year special offers included! Check in was exceptionally easy and we were on board before noon, scarcely 15 minutes after arriving at the port. It was a very wet day and we felt sorry for the majority of the passengers who were visiting Malaga and the surrounding attractions. For us ...
