Review for a Spain Cruise on Marella Discovery 2

We chose this cruise as it was the newest of the TUI Ships. We are elderly aged 68 and 78 and slightly disabled. We had assistance at the airport, but struggled to get to the coach going to the port. The ship was medium-sized not quite up to P & O standard. We chose a de-luxe balcony cabin on deck 7. Everything was spotless. Bathroom was new-looking but the step up into it was a bit difficult. ...

Not terrible but not for me

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Marella Discovery 2

Let me start by saying that this was my first cruise so maybe the points that I did not enjoy are standard on these kinds of holiday. If you are 60+, then you will likely enjoy this cruise. We went on the TUI Discovery 2 primarily to spread the ashes of my mother in law as per her wishes. Before I go on, I have to say that they were fantastic with assisting us. Elanor helped us out greatly and ...

Nice ship, poor customer service desk. Disappointing

Short break, booked via cruise.co.uk, (always use these as they get great prices for me). Went for this cruise because it was a great price, on an old Royal Caribbean ship which was rebranded and it was - ahem - "all inclusive". We flew Monarch airways, they were great and got to Malaga airport after a good flight. Unfortunately, TUI staff at Malaga airport were, quite frankly, offhand, ...

Disappointing Entertainment

The Discovery 2 is a nice ship and the food and drink is great. The entertainment was not good by comparison to the entertainment on the Dream in March. There were a couple of themed plays for example, Charlie Chaplin and Simon and Garfunkel which did not have any sparkle and failed to flow. The singing voices of the team were weak apart from a couple of the team. When the assistant ...

Sorry Tui you got it wrong. Lack of supervision and management from the embarkation you seemed to be more interested in the Gala bingo winners than premier paying customers. Up the stairs down the stairs suitcases in this room no on board no over there? Nice ship though could not fault the cabin 8001or the stewards. Dining mostly in Islands. Breakfast under cooked bacon, pale sausages.Resorted ...

Lovely ship, but boring.....

We just came off the Nieuw Amsterdam in Fort Lauderdale. The ship was lovely, the service was impeccable and the food was great. Onboard entertainment and activities need to be reenergized and reengineered though....The only activities on the program were related to promotions of shops, Spa, bars and art auctions/lectures. Meaningful afternoon activities were almost non excitant. The ship ...

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

First of all - the positives. The cabin was clean and comfortable, although showing signs of wear. The cabin steward was friendly and helpful, as were all the staff. Our excursion to Casablanca was great, the highlight being the Hassan II mosque. At Funchal and Santa Cruz we did our own thing. Lanzarote was interesting, but the visit was hurried and uninspiring. Recommended: Look out for ...

This was our first cruise experience. Generally we enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and courteous and our Cabin Steward looked after us very well. For the most part we avoided Raffles - which was chaotic and noisy. The Windows restaurant was excellent and we also enjoyed the specialty restaurants. Shore excursion organisation was also very good. We had a Balcony Stateroom which we felt was ...
