downhill continues

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Regal Princess

We selected this cruise as we wanted to see London. Good price and high obc. Princess continues to go downhill. Main dining room is bland. Desserts are repetitive. Buffet sausages taste like cardboard. Liquid eggs are used. The head waiter said he’d get me omelet made with fresh eggs. Shouldn’t have be like that . Pastries are frozen, some hadn’t been thawed out. The other head waiter told me it ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Iona

We have cruised over 20 times with P&O but this ship was a poor experience for us. The ship itself is very nice, but as far as we are concerned thats where it ends!!. The ship is very large and impersonal, unlike the other ships it just does not flow. Once onboard we had to download the holiday app in order to book shows etc, however that was a complete farce because as soon as we tried to book ...

Amazing staff but dinning a shambles

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We sailed around Britain to meet family. The stops were great shame we never made France due to strikes. My husband is in a wheelchair and I truly can fault the staff they were so helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to make his holiday truly amazing. I'm gluten free and golly did I struggle, I had to keep asking if things were gluten free as nothing was marked. They ...

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

We chose this cruise as we are Diamond Class on Royal Caribbean and so far they have never disappointed. We wanted to try this ship as the only RCI Southampton based and needed to sample before commiting to other sailings. For us this ship is too big and even though it was not a School break there were 500 children on board. We had a balcony but also a young family either side, when they were ...

No longer welcoming for solo travellers

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Victoria

Since my husband passed away, I have travelled on 6 Cunard cruises as a solo passenger. Since COVID the first thing that you notice is the lack of staff which makes things awkward for solos. On the first evening there used to be a solo travellers get together where the Social Host/Hostess and Dance Hosts would make you feel welcome (with a glass of bubbly) and get you talking to other solo ...

Lovely spacious ship and wonderful cruise - but very disappointing food choices!

As loyal Celebrity Select Captains Club Members - This is our fourth Celebrity cruise, and the second on this lovely ship. We pre purchased the Drinks, Wi-Fi and Gratuities Package, when booking the cruise. We didn’t book any excursions, as few seemed wheelchair friendly and we are happy to re discover places under our own steam.Having said that, the distance between where the ship docks and ...

Mediocre Cruise but Memorable Ports

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Regal Princess

This was probably our once in a lifetime United Kingdom cruise -- 7 ports in 10 days -- England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. From the British Museum in London to war museums and, oh so many, castles, the overall trip ticked many boxes. Because this trip was port heavy, time and experience on the ship were more limited than usual. But, this was our 3rd trip on the Regal ...

32 day Back to Back Cruise on the Sky Princess from Sept 16th to Oct 17th 2023. We also did this Cruise last year on the Sky Princess and how things have now gone way downhill. Penny Pinching Princess- Less Staff/Waiters around means very long wait times to get served both in the bars and dining rooms High percentage of Waiters are Training and therefore the quality of service is very ...

New England in the Fall

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Sky Princess

Never having cruised previously with Princess, we booked this cruise for the itinerary and sailing date. Embarkation in Southampton was hassle free, even for 3500 passengers, and first impressions of the ship were positive, as we experienced a well presented and polished interior. The 6 day crossing to Boston was rough with bad weather and a huge swell for most of the time. It was here that ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Star

Saturday, September 23 I am John and my wife, Eve, took this cruise after spending a day touring London. The drive to the port from our London hotel was 2 hours away. NCL wanted everyone on board by 2 pm, so we knew it would be tight. We were making good time until we got off and hit Southampton local traffic, then everything turned to a crawl. Later, we found that there was a boat show going ...
