First the positives. Friendly, helpful staff. Great entertainment, especially Craig stewart in Brodie’s. A lovely boat as you would expect fro a brand new boat. Food delicious in all areas. Our favour as Sindhu, excellent value.
Negatives. Very small cabins only 14 inches between Wardrobe and bed. Restaurant booking. THere is no freedom dining it Is all booked using the The P and O app, ...
My husband and I went on Iona in September 21 just as traveling was deemed ok. Embarkation seemed a little bit of a non event, on previous ships there has been a red carpet with a photographer there and a glass of bubbles but there was nothing. There were covid procedures in place however some seemed to contradict others (i.e you can sing in the bar at night without masks but masks were to be worn ...
This was booked as a staycation cruise, we'd never travelled P & O before but thought as the ship was brand new and they were the first company to offer cruises after lock down we'd take a chance.
Iona is beautiful, she was clean and smart as you'd expect a new ship to be, however there was just something missing, the lift areas, the corridors to cabins felt very bog standard and underwhelming. ...
The whole experience , from arriving at the terminal was excellent , yes you have to queue, to go through all the procedures, But don’t forget you have to Queue at any Airport ,
Once on board everything is beautiful, it has recently been refurbished, once your dining etc has been sorted you can get on with enjoying yourself , the MDR are have great menu choices , breakfast , lunch and dinner ...
Overall the ship was splendid. Clean, spectacular, friendly staff, excellent cuisine and especially appealing to the younger members of our party of eight.
The one negative was that I embarked “clean” and disembarked with a dose of Covid 19.
I can’t help thinking that the vast number of guests who wilfully ignored the company policy of wearing masks while walking about and in public ...
Excellent cruise with Covid protocols adhered to. Masks worn by everyone at all times except passengers in outside spaces or eating and drinking inside.
Excellent service in Grand Cuvee restaurant by all waiters and sommelier.
Premium drinks not available as advertised in Craft Social. Blamed on deliveries!
A little pointless upgrading to Premium drinks package.
Struggled to get drinks ...
The ship is the result of people's feedback being applied to the design.
Easily navigable wide corridors as ever some things are going to improve with time she is teething but lovely.
The bad bits well the drive thru covid testing no toilets mother is disabled it wasn't the best start.
Ladies and Gents me sure you go before Southampton.
Olive Grove, forget it, and people should ...
3 days out of Southampton, with nowhere to go, but around ship, to Enrichment sessions and shows. What a way to get back to cruising and relaxing. Embarking was smooth, with well organised lateral flow testing, car drop off, luggage pick up and clear instructions. Cabin ready straight away, so quick unpack then time to chill. Lovely friendly and efficient staff, plenty of choice for food and ...
The brand new Iona is lovely, sparkly, gleaming, and well ... new! My ambition before cruise end was to walk from one end to t'other barefoot so luxurious was the carpeting. Also mightily impressive were the staff for some of whom had joined the ship for the first time, cheerful, unfailingly polite - what a difference smiles make - yes, even masked ones. There were a few teething problems which ...
I booked this cruise as a safe option after having a couple of holidays cancelled. After the worry of getting the PCR results getting on the ship was very easy though I would advise taking hard copy of all your documents and don't depend on the apps etc for you vaccination and PCR results. The ship is okay, though I generally dislike the layout of Celeb ships. Next bit of advice is if you are ...
