Hammering, Drilling and Maintenance
We were on our third cruise with P and O. We were so looking forward to this which was my birthday present cruise in December. We thought our cabin had seen better days but had the very professional Hilda as our steward and she took care of usvand was always smiling. Most of the staff were wonderful and so happy.
On boarding we decided to loaf around in ...
First time cruising with MSC and we were left with mixed feelings. The ship could not really be faulted, being the first voyage from Southampton to Barcelona the ship and everything on board was brand new! Our cabin was well appointed and modern with many USB ports and universal power outlets, which you would expect from a new ship.
We found the entertainment to be interesting, some nights the ...
I saw this cruise on TV Cruise 1st channel and booked for the transatlantic voyage to the Caribbean. The fact that it was due to visit Islands that I had previously been to in my teens when I was a young seafarer sailing on cargo ships, before everything went in containers, it was to be a nostalgic voyage as well as my first cruise.
Needless to say myself and travel partner arrived at ...
This review isn't so much about the ship. More about the way Royal Caribbean went about showing how little they care about their British customers.
We found out a few days before leaving that this trip was going to be cut short by 3 days, supposedly because of bad weather. A strange excuse because when you book a cruise, you are told that these ships are so large that they can handle any ...
Cruise to Canaries for winter sun, spoilt by below average food.
We cruised on Cunard 5 times, two on Queen Elizabeth, One on Queen Mary and Two on Queen Victoria.
The last on Queen Victoria and never again.
We have cruised many times mostly with Oceania and Regent Seven Seas.
Our last two cruises have been with Cunard on Queen Victoria in a Princess grill suite and MSC Bellissima in ...
We chose this cruise for the Itinerary. We have done 38 cruises with many different cruise lines but this was our first with P&O. From reading boards before hand I was lead to believe this was a slightly up market cruise, better than celebrity and Princess but more traditional like Cunard. Having been on many of these lines I thought I knew what to expect.
Embarkation was good very smooth ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary, which did not disappoint, especially both Petra in Aqaba and Herculaneum in Naples were amazing.
Sad to say the Sapphire Princess did ,the food served up was at best ordinary and at worst downright bad, bad veggies, rotton fruit. Menu repeated over and over with no regional menus associated with our port calls. Drinks were overpriced. The shows were ...
Give Ventura another try as this was only cruise from Southampton for Oct school holidays.
This time not impressed with Ventura.
Check in was quite slow
Once on board we went to buffet, very poor selection available.
Went to cabin which appeared to be ok
visited buffet a few times, first occasion there was no cutlery available, once i can let go, twice and someone needs to say ...
The ship was nice, people were great. Dining room dinner menu disappointed and we ate in the windjammer most nights. When we did eat in the dining room, it was good. The ship was on the small side, but it doesn't need to be bigger with ports so close together and one cruise day.
First port, Hamburg Germany on a Sunday. All stores are closed on Sundays, forget shopping. Are you serious ...
Ports we wanted to visit
Service from most was acceptable but not from tours desk where we had a female total ignore us and then was not much help after that. Then to be ripped off for 111min on internet when it was clearly documented no use.... and to be told tuff luck.
And to rub salt in you have to PAY for bottled water US$24.00 for 6x 1lt bottles where manufacturing costs are ...
