We joined the Norwegian Star in Southampton for this 21 day cruise to Reykjavik and return. We’d driven down from Manchester and took an overnight stay at a Holiday Express on the western outskirts of Southampton and so had a very short run into port that morning. We’d availed ourselves of the port parking facilities adjacent to the cruise terminal with a helpful discount from NCL.

Please see my overall viewpoints regarding this cruise...
Great:
1) Customer Service. Crew was very helpful and sweet. Our cabin was always clean. Easy embarkation and disembarkation. Seemed organized and we enjoyed being 'pampered.'
2) Loved the games! Trivia and organized 'game shows.' The nightly entertainment wasn't too bad-for a mid-sized ship I felt it was good.
3) Excellent ...
I chose this cruise based on a lifetime wish to see the Norwegian fjords, and in that regard it did not disappoint. I had a balcony cabin - it was lovely - spacious and clean. It looked like it had been newly decorated. My room was quiet, I had a fabulous attendant, and I really couldn't ask for anything more regarding the room.
The food was just so-so. Not a foodie, so it wasn't a high ...
This cruise was enjoyable, particularly as not full with only 2200 guests. We were on the silhouette in 2018 and at capacity it was unpleasantly full in the ocean view restaurant and around the ship. All staff were very friendly as usual and the senior team were more visible. Embarkation was challenging as the long queues were very slow moving. Disembarkation was much easier. The main ...
Having just disembarked from a Norwegian cruise on Sky Princess, need to share some points: Standard balcony cabins quite small compared to other lines (completed 32 cruises) so can compare. Shower curtain on a new ship seems to be a step back in time. Food all good apart from main dining room.
Main dining reservation and organisation shambolic with non reserved guests walking in on one side ...
Just got back from a 10 day wonderful cruise to the west coasts of Spain and France on the Sirena. I haven’t seen a lot of recent reviews on the ship, so I hope this helps people with making an informed decision about sailing with Oceania and on the Sirena.
About us…. We are in our 60s and 70s and are energetic, curious people who love to travel by land or sea. This was our second Oceania ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary following a princess land tour of Ireland (which was fabulous). Overall, the ports were excellent but there were too many water shuttle ports which created issues for those with disabilities. Several of the water shuttles broke down so we spent one to two hours waiting In the public areas to board one. The shore excursions we took were excellent and ...
The internet was awful. We need the internet to be able to log into our business, iMessage, and call over IP. The service was so poor that we weren't able to connect to our business and the messaging quit working after a few days. We sailed on this ship a few years ago and didn't have this problem. We've also been on many other ships on several cruise lines and not had this problem. The ...
Nearly didn’t book this cruise due to the flurry of negative reviews but we’re glad we did. Quick summary… lovely new & modern ship. Is the food as good as Celebrity or NCL? No… but it was still decent and we always found something to eat. Was the service as slick as Celebrity/NCL? No… but the crew were all lovely if a little disorganised in the MDR. Was the entertainment as good as NCL or RCL? ...
We chose this cruise because if fitted our dates. All of my party bar one has been on a Celebrity cruise before but it was my and my husband's first time on Solstice. We travelled in a family group.
One thing that really struck us upon embarkation was how empty the ship was. That made embarkation really quick. We later found out it had only 32% occupancy so it was a very different experience ...
