It has now been almost 3 weeks since disembarking from the QM2 and frankly I cannot wait to get back on the ship!
Prior to this voyage I had never travelled via ship, I had always taken a flight but in 2019 I decided to try something new and book myself on a cruise ship and having completed extensive research on the subject I decided to do a transatlantic crossing on board the QM2(I know it's ...
This was our third Crossing in 5 years on the QM2 and I think this time our eyes were wide open. Our first Crossing (Britannia Club), in 2017, was magical, as first Crossings on the QM2 are. We truly saw everything through rose colored glasses. I think if the ship had sunk entering New York Harbor, we would still have given it a 5-star review. Our second Crossing (Sheltered Balcony), in 2018, was ...
Our ten night cruise in an aft Haven suite with a large balcony during a time with fewer passengers and great rates spoiled us forever.
We've cruised NCL several times and were seduced into this cruise because of incredible rates and the chance to try the Haven sailing to a location we had not previously been, the Northern Baltic. Beginning in Southampton, this cruise hit ports in France, ...
We chose this 7-night cruise because we had always wanted to see the Norwegian Fjords.
Embarkation at Southampton was fairly quick - after our vaccination certificates and health questionnaire had been closely checked. Passengers were not obliged to wear masks, except in the theatre, and only a few did, but every crew member was permanently masked, and sanitisation dispensers were all over the ...
After many cancelled Caribbean cruises, we decided on these 2 European cruises which were amazing. We sailed on 05/07/2022 & 05/14/2022 out of Southampton.
The Silhouette is a beautiful ship and our first revolutionized experience. It is very well maintained and cleaned top to bottom many times a day. There were 2,400 passengers on the Norwegian cruise and only 1,092 on the Scandinavian ...
Thurs 5 May, at home, completed health questionnaire, LFT negative, and last minute packing.
Fri 6 May, drove to Southampton as we live in NE UK it is 330miles, set the sat nav and car in auto box eco mode, uneventful journey with a few pit stops, car performed excellently 52.5mpg. Overnight in Premier Travel Inn outside Southampton.
Sat 7 May, our embarkation time was 3-30pm the latest ...
We returned home yesterday from QE voyage Southampton to San Francisco and had a wonderful time aboard.
On arriving in Southampton at 12.15 as requested we were surprised by the number of passengers waiting for Covid testing. Obvious the stated time was not adhered to. However we were onboard and having lunch in the restaurant by 1.45pm.
We were in Grills and had a lovely suite, plenty of ...
Absolutely fantastic in every way.
The crew are all absolutely brilliant, every need is attended to immediately, nothing is to much trouble, good crew to customer ratio didn't have to wait long for anything.
Multiple restaurants for every taste, fine dining with views across the sea, steaks, Indian, burgers, vegi options somewhere to eat almost 24hs, Lovely cocktails and such a good system ...
Finally, at, I think, our seventh attempt we made it back on to a Cunard ship, and enjoyed ourselves very much. We have cruised with Cunard many times and were pleased to see everything was much as expected, with a few differences because of Covid.
By far the worst part was embarkation which took about an hour and three quarters rather than the usual 20 minutes. I’m not sure why this was, ...
Great to be back on board the QE even if for only 4 days. Our first cruise for 30 months since the pandemic. Fast efficient check in. Pleased with covid precautions still in place. Ship very clean and the food and services all to a very good standard considering the circumstances. Special mention to Antonio for looking after us so well (again) in the Britannia Restaurant. Entertainment most ...
