Didn’t want to travel into London so we walked around Southhampton and ended up catching a train to an English village called Brokenhurst. It was lovely a nice lunch and only about 15 minutes by train

We enjoyed Southampton, there is an old town. We found a great pub in the old town that served a very good and reasonable breakfast. But the real gem is Winchester just up the road. We hopped a train, the trip was about 20 minutes, and went up there for the day. Now, that was a great day. For us 60's kids there is "Winchester Cathedral" (by The New Vaudeville Band), and a wonderful, picturesque, old town - nice to walk around and take photos. Read Less

The hotel hoppa bus was the easy way to get to our hotel. Local buses ran nearby. We used the Norwegian shuttle to this port.

Quite a nice place we stayed the night before we sailed in travelodge- which was close to the port and woke up to see ship in front of hotel window. Only problem was that it was unbearably warm in the room.
