It's all about Cesar manrique, the artist who more or less shaped the island. Lots of architectural things by Cesar. All houses are white (also Cesars influence). Rather dry island but still they produce wine due tio the vulcanic ground. Beautiful nature ...

For some reason we were bussed to a beach resort full of tacky souvenir shops and pubs selling cheap booze, rather than visit the excellent Arricife. Several guests opted to stay on the bus and return straight back to the ship. We got off, stretched our legs and got the next bus back. The lack of a guide to inform us was notable but they were probably too embarrassed to be seen. ...
