IT WAS Loretto BUT THERE WAS NO DROP DOWN FOR LORETTO! Great port, small tender port with a wonderful shopping area only 5 blocks walk from the pier. If you get off the ship, go directly to the church / plaza area in town as they do a great show.. Lots of dancers and good shopping. We had beer and snacks in town, small bar close to the main shopping area. We went back to the ship early as it was getting really cold and windy, which was good as they stopped tendering operations for a while as the seas were too rough. It then turned really nasty so they had to postpone the ultimate deck party to the 3 sea day. Read Less

Took a bus to town and a cab back to the ship. Beautiful place. Didn't really do it justice as we left the ship quite late. We walked from the bus terminal to the church, toured the inside and back to the terminal, which was incredibly crowded with passengers trying to return to the ship. So we took a cab. Read Less

Good stop with good shopping options for souvenirs. Great scenery on the way in the Sea of Cortez especially during winter months since you can see a lot of Gray Whales during their migration.

La Paz was not worth the stop. I would stay on the ship if I were to do again. Absolutely, nothing to do or see here. 30 minute bus ride to town then to be dropped off with nothing to do. Stay on the ship!

Spent more time on the bus to/from the city then in the city itself. Didn't seem like much to do if not on a tour.

We were there on Sunday and nothing was open. So we rode the shuttle into town and stayed on to head right back. It took about 30 minutes from the pier to the town. It's a nice seaside resort.

La Paz was a 30-minute bus ride from the port (which had vendor stalls just past ship security lines), with interesting country to see on one side and the large bay or inlet on the other. My husband rode in but decided he didn't care to walk around so went back on the same bus. I walked down the Malecon to the south(?) end, talking to two college girls who were "ambassadresses" for their country, telling me something of their history and the significance of the different waterfront statues they were standing near. I had lunch (at Applebee's!) then wandered up the hill to the church and through a pre-Christmas street fair/sale, with almost anything you could want available, and lots of the residents buying food or school clothes or toys. Had a great time, felt safe the entire time though I was alone, and talked to some of the locals I passed. Read Less

This stop offers very little and is there as a cheap stop for the ship I am sure just like some of the "private islands" and not worth the stop as it offers nothing that is not already offered by the much better 7 days stops.

If the whale sharks are in season, you should take advantage and swim with these gentle giants. The locals are very protective of them and their natural environment. This was a great experience.
