Bus trip to caldera, brief walk there and back, followed by half and hour in the most dire winery I've had the misfortune to have a tasting. And then a trip to a pottery/souvenir shop. Bit of a waste of a morning.

On our first visit we got a local bus to the visiter centre for the Taburiente and walked through the countryside to El Paso (about 4 kms) which is a lovely old town. On our second visit we took the local bus to Los Llanos, were we spent time in the town. The bus rides were over the mountains so there were good views. Read Less

Took hoho bus. Great way to see the place. It was very busy as there was a race in and a motor bike even near the ship. Big shopping centre tight at the dock.

Since the dock is so close to town, it was very nice to walk around. Visited several museums and churches. The local food was excellent.

Small island and small port town. Just walked all round the port to town and up hill to fort and church. Back through the pretty old town and back to ship for lunch. OK

Nice little town for a half day stroll but nothing much to do or see. Plenty of shops and bars though. Might be better toi book an excurision.

Short walk in to the town. Shuttle bus is not worth boarding it drops you at the dock gate about 500 yards from the ship. Pleasant enough place but won't be going back.

Small but perfectly formed. The cruise compass said the shops would be shut because it was a Sunday. A cruise ship with 3,000+ people on board docks in your port, and you keep your shop shut? The places was buzzing.

You could walk into the town from the ship. However free transport is offered. We did not take a tour in this port and we feel we should have. The town is typical of those found in the Canaries. It is nice but after several ports before this one it all starts to run together. We were mainly on the cruise for the cruise and not to sight see. Our objective was to get an overall view of all the islands and then return to individual ones that interested us. To be fair a short number of hours in port does not allow you to really get a feel for anyone place over another. The exception was Lanzarote where if you love natural surrounding and a place that values keeping it that way you will love it. All others are somewhat the same when you only have a couple of hours. We think La Palma has a lot to see and offer. A longer stay and getting away from the port and major city is the way to go here. Read Less

We were lucky that we docked on the first Sunday of the month as the local craft market was on. A wide variety of homemade goods and car boot sale items. Free samples of liqueurs and a band playing. We then walked down the main street called O'Daly street. Keep going right and you reach Columbus's ship or at least a full size replica. You cant climb on board but walk up to the fort and you can look down on it. A beer at the street cafee by the Columbus ship was 5 euros. Walk back down to the front and get your pint for 1 euro or an amazing hot chocolate for 1 euro 50cent. We only had a few hours at this port but that was more than enough as there was very little to see. Read Less

Very friendly little place, easy to walk around, best restaurants for lunch/Tapas are off the beaten track.
