If you want a carpet, this is the place to be. However, I really should have booked a tour and missed out on a lot of experiences. Be prepared to be hassled by shop owners ...

Turkey/Kusadasi/Ephesus- This was the one place I probably could have done with it. Turkey is dirty and sketchy. Although, I feel like they probably have improved a lot, the port is busy and pushy, people trying to get you to buy whatever crap they are trying to sell. It is what it is.... it's a tourist spot. Save the money of arranged trips! We hopped a local taxi (which is actually more like a ...

Private tour to Ephesus.Too hot and too many tourist for the site. Must see the Terrace, cost extra but shaded and less people. Went to the ancient village of Sirince for lunch, take a bit of hiking but well worth it. Still cooking the 'very old' way (coal and wood grill). Carpet again but this time comes with a demo how they harvest silk thread from the silk worm, plus hands on experiences to tie ...

Our private guide arrived about the same time we got off of the ship and walked out of the terminal (http://www.ephesustours.biz). She was a lovely lady... a former teacher and had a genuine love for people. By the way, the terminal area here is nice and fairly new... a very impressive entry to the country. Our Mercedes Benz van took us to the Virgin Mary's House. Again, we beat the tour ...

Unless you are going on a shore excursion and unless you don't mind being constantly hassled, I recommend staying put! I certainly will never go there again - the hassle was good natured but eventually became a real pain. I witnessed the most awful cruelty of a local beating his dog which left me in tears. So nope, this is one place I would recommend definitely giving a miss, unless you have ...

Kusadasi is a very beautiful port in Turkey. We booked a tour with Ekol to visit Ephesus and Sirince Village. The tour and great and our guide Taylan was wonderful. Ephesus was pretty impressive and worth seeing even if you are not a huge history buff like me. It's also a must to visit the terrace houses! The ruins are really impressive but be prepared because it will be hot and there is a lot of ...

I booked this cruise primarily to see Ephesus and was not disappointed - an incredible site. We booked private tour so that we could be sure to see and spend as much time in all of the sites (including House of Mary which I thought was very special) and the Terrace Houses which were just amazing. ...
