tender meant that there was NO getting off for FIL. (HINT get your timed Tender tickets the early morning at Pinks) The rest of us took Ubers to local beaches or wandered the (very) short strip of tourist traps. There was a beach right at the tender drop off and the water looked enticing but I saw no beach umbrellas, so it was more for those that just wanted to swim. Had a drink at a local bar ...
This is where we were tendered into the port. The Kona Mocha tour took us to 2 stops . We went to the Kona Joe's and the Kona Natural Soap Company. The soap company owner and staff were so nice.
This is port where we finally went to a beach. We were able to get a nice picture of out ship when we were at the beach. ...
The tendering was very messed up with people who did’t take ship’s excursions stuck on ship for hours. I went snorkeling at the sight where Captain Cook was assasinated. Took high speed catamaran and saw caves and other interesting lava flow formations. Guide was very knowledgeable and informative about Hawaii legends ...
Best - really the only - port for just getting off the shi and walking around. Beautiful little beach right by the pier. Nice shopping and little restaurants right on the bay. ...
We decided not to book any excursions at this port. The weather was much hotter and more humid than previous days so the bus was a great choice. There is a stop at a nice beach but we didn’t come prepared for beach time. This is a tendered ...
Tender process was easy. We didn't rush so waited for the open tender times which probably happened quickly with only 40% passenger capacity. Lots to do close to the pier. Somewhat steep roads so my short legs got winded walking to the Kona Brewing Company for a tour we booked on our own last minute. Tour guide was brand new but hilarious. Our teen boys also enjoyed even though they couldn't ...
First stop with a beach (very small and no waves just to note) to just sit down on without taking a bus. Also the only stop where you tender to shore and the shopping/town is right off the boat. Great shopping area. Line for tender takes roughly an hour so line up by 3-ish. ...
