Review for a Asia Cruise on Scenic Eclipse

I had terrible difficulty booking back-to-back trips with Scenic but managed to accomplish it after lots of tries deciphering pieces gleamed from various Scenic web sites. This was the second half of a circumnavigation of Japan, and I won’t repeat what I already said in that review (Learning experience 1). Our previous segment was very full so that staff were really spread thin running around and ...

MY DISAPPOINTING DIAMOND PRINCESS CRUISE

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

I've been on 9 cruises so far and this was my first cruise to Japan. I travel alone since everyone else is working and I am retired. This was my 5th Princess Cruise. The ship was clean and beautiful with all the woodwork and marble in great condition. However my dining experience was another matter. I ate lunch and dinner aboard Diamond Princess 18 May 2019. My set dinner time was at 5:30 ...

The good, the bad, and the ugly!

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

We choose this cruise to visit Japan and Alaska and we liked that there were a lot of sea days when crossing the Bering Sea. The embarkation in Kobe was a little slow, but not bad. we were in cabin V705, on the same floor with Seabourn Square, which was convenient for getting morning coffee and snacks. As one cruiser said in her review, the ship was clean, but the decor snd furnishings are a ...

Princess has fallen down and needs to do better

We chose this based on the advice of friend, its price point and the destinations in Japan. It was a back to back cruise, therefore two cruises, not made clear to me before we sailed. Not sure yet if it qualifies me for two cruises for the purpose of obtaining points to upgrade my Princess premium status, or one. We were in cabin B710 with a balcony, nicely appointed. Cabin staff was excellent, ...

On-board pool deck, pool repairs and patio restaurant interruption

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

A Seabourn on-board credit of $250 @ guest was provided for on-going pool deck area and pool repairs with patio restaurant interruption. In our opinion, the compensation offered was inadequate for the scope of repairs and interruption. Seabourn's response to our survey review on this inadequaecy included the following: "We ... apologize for the onboard maintenance on Deck 8 that disturbed ...

This was our 1st cruise on Seabourn. We had heard great things from people we met on other cruises about Seabourn and wanted to give it a try. We live in Asia so the 21 day Kobe Japan to Alaska cruise sounded great. We flew to Osaka and took the high speed ferry across to Kobe. Stayed one night in Kobe and headed for Kyoto the next day on the train. A little rainy but had a great time in Kyoto ...

Average food and mixed service

We chose to take this cruise after a good cruise on Sun princess. unfortunately after selecting a Suite our expectations were not met. The suites are larger and come with some more benefits than club class or other staterooms but it was a great disappointment when it came to the dining options and quality. The speciality restaurants were mixed, with the Steak House coming as a great steak, and ...

We travelled on 3 Diamond Princess cruises out of Kobe... 1. Busan, Kyushu, Shikoku. 2. Ryuku Islands, Taiwan. 3. Hokkaido. Total of 27 days on the ship but we stayed 8 days in Kyoto between the 2nd/3rd cruises. Overall enjoyed the experience very much. Below a few thoughts... Pros 1. Great itinerary! Really enjoyed exploring the diverse sites around Japan and Taiwan. 2. Three different ...

Staff was great except one very rude tech guy in internet signup area. He grabbed my wife's tablet, made unrequested and un-needed changes including deleting some shortcuts having nothing to do with the cruise while saying "let me do my job". Loved the free shuttles in most ports when I didn't have a princess excursion. Loved the self service washers and dryers. Air bubble controls in every hot ...

Disappointed

Quote below from a previous review-and I could not agree more ! '"This ship is too big; there are just too many pax for comfort. Perhaps we'll try Seabourn next time. Evenings were pretty much a constant stream of people making their way from one 'entertainment' to another. The very large and luxurious theater was full a good half hour before show start. The much touted shore excursions were ...
