Beautiful places and just a beach with locals along the grassed area selling their wares, local baskets and wood carvings. The beaches are lovely but some coral on one of them. One island had locals as 'security' so the passengers weren't bothered too much. Apparently it was a problem in the past but we didn't find it so now. ...

Amazing experience at Kitava where we met a guide who had previously met a group member. Therefore we were walked to the local village and met the locals cooking, sewing and recounting their life experiences. Kiriwina was a dynamic island with many cultural dance displays, endless market trade as neighbouring islands were also involved. Stayed till the last tender and experienced the dynamic ...

Kiriwina was nice enough. Very friendly locals but an oversupply of markets..hundreds of stalls all selling the same kind of thing. Beautiful hand crafted timber carvings and baskets/ bags. Great prices. The beaches are beautiful with reefs not far from shore for snorkelling. Find a local kid to take you on an outrigger canoe for 5 Kina ($2.50 Aus) Well worth it. Remember to take some money for ...

Loved Kiriwina. Beautiful island, lovely people, amazing cultural experience due to it being their independence day while we were there, so lots of authentic celebrations and dances. Beautiful wood art to buy and fantastic snorkeling right off the beach. ...

Tender ports, we didn't get to go ashore at Kitava, but Kiriwina was wonderful. Snorkelling was difficult due to the low tide. ...

There were no official tours available but we just talked to a local and they decided to give us a tour. We went to the village where he lived. Along the way, we tried new fruits we had never tried before and watched some children dancing. He introduced his daughter, mom, and wife to us. He led us to a cave and explained that that was where they got water from. In all, it was a brilliant tour. ...
