No excursion booked with the ship. We walked to shore and did a Hop On Hop Off tour. The cost was $45US each. The bus route lasted about 1 1/2 hrs and brought us to the most southern part of Florida before returning. We got off after one hour and chose to walk back towards the pier, along Duval St. Then we walked along the boardwalk, enjoyed some key lime pie at Kermits and headed back to the ship. There were places to visit along the way, for a price, like Hemingway's house, the Key West Light house and Key West Butterfly Conservatory which we passed on. Key West is a lovely place and we would love to visit again. Read Less

We took the free Duval Loop bus to the Southernmost point. We also visited Higgs Beach which has public restrooms and a nice outdoor resturaunt. Beach chairs and umbrellas may be rented on the beach too. We also walked through West Martello Tower. Its an old civil war fort with gardens. They operate on donations. We took the Duval Loop bus back to the pier area and took in the Shipwrecking Museum. It was okay and had an observation tower that offered a good view of the area. Read Less

We did the Hop on Hop off tour and it is a complete waste of time. Do not spend your money on this. Way too crowded especially when other ships are in port.

Key West is a favorite port to jsut walk and enjoy the day. My wife loves going for breakfast at a local favorite and getting a slice of genuine Key Lime Pie.

Key West was quite the debacle, they started out with doing immigration inspections early in the morning. Some friends of ours who had excursions said they were in line for over an hour before it even moved. We waited and went later and the lines were still crazy long. The set up was terrible, the lines were outside in the sun too. We decided to wait even later to avoid the lines. When we finally got in line, we waited a while still. After getting through that mess, we then had to wait in line to get off of the boat. Since we were docked at a Navy pier, we had to take trolleys into Key West. We had to wait in line and then get a trolley. Half the day was gone by the time we actually made it to Key West. We enjoyed walking around and seeing some of the historic sites. We discovered a great gelato place. Read Less
