Kauai was my favorite island. It felt more like an actual island and not so much of a city in the middle of the ocean. We did the Hop on Hop off bus and got stuck at Koa Wood Factory because the driver told us to go to the material store, and we thought that was were the bus would pick us up, but we watched the bus pass us by and realized that we needed to go back to the Koa Wood Factory to get back on the bus. We would have had more chances to get more shopping done had we not missed the bus the first time. We still enjoyed the Botanical Gardens and the Koa Wood Factory though. Read Less

Tubing through the irrigation of an old sugar plantation through caves. Very family friendly. Wear your helmet! You may pump into cave walls. This was fun but shorter than expected.

This was highlight of our trip. The helicopter ride was spectacular, Do Me was an entertaining guide for the remainder of our trip. This is a must do even at $400 each

As mentioned above, there was a beach about a 10-minute walk from the ship so we spent about an hour or so in the water. Right by the beach, there is a small shopping centre with an ABC and some other touristy stores.

Very pretty stop but a mile or so from the city - merchants ran free shuttles to their stores which we utilized. Coolest weather of our Hawaii ports - not a tender. We got off and did some walking near the ship - enjoyed the grounds of the Kauai Marriott hotel. Shops we saw had very little to offer that was new or interesting and we have been to Kauai several times prior. Read Less

Kaua'i is not an island you can experience in just 1.5 days! On our first day, we rented paddle boards and paddled Wailua River, then we drove up to Hanalei (a place deserving of several days itself). On the second day, we didn't have time to do much of anything so just wandered some local beaches and ducked into some shops. Luckily, the husband and I were able to return to Kaua'i for three days after the cruise to experience more of what this amazing island has to offer. Read Less

We walked over to Kalapaki Beach (by the Marriott hotel) and spent the sunny, warm day lazing on the beach. We also visited Duke's on the Beach for hula pie and mai tai for lunch - yumm. It was a lovely lazy day.
