Kauai has a lot of beach very close to the port that you can enjoy along with restaurants near by. Do a beach day and enjoy some lunch :)

I think it was $16/ senior. Not much to see but enjoyed seeing something different and who doesn't like a trine ride! Walked back to the mall and took a free shuttle back o the ship. Only complaint was that there was no one to give you any information/directions when we got off the ship. Guess they want you to pay for the ship excursions. Read Less

Walking to the nearby Kalapaki beach and Anchor Cove mall was the best use of the 1/2 day. One of the nicest beaches of the trip, snorkeling and sand, sun or shade, nearby food, and a nice view. NaPali coast later in the day was iffy, but waves calmed down and sun came out at last minute. Be prepared in the ideal non-windy spot with camera and unobstructed background for the pictures. Because of limited time, we raced to get our rental. Thank goodness we reserved in advance because they sold out. We then raced to the canyon and on the way back we ate at Bubba's burgers which was good. There simple wasn't enough time to stop elsewhere and because it was Christmas day, most businesses were closed. We did get to go to Hilo Hattie's for a short time though. Read Less

This was a prearranged taxi tour. We went to a beach where saw some monk seals and drove up to Waimea Canyon. Beautiful scenery

Because of the inclement weather, there wasn’t much to do but go to the local nearby ABC stores and Walmart. There was only one shuttle available to shuttle the whole ship, (or those who decided to get off and go to Walmart). Waiting was terrible. I can’t understand why there is only one shuttle when there are hundreds of people who want to go to Walmart. The average wait time for a shuttle was 20 minutes, and 20 minutes to Walmart. Do the math. If you are at Walmart waiting to come back to the ship, and there are 50 people in front of you, that’s 20 minute one-way 20 minutes back x’s the amount of people. You could be waiting for over an hour or so. It seems like the last time I was here, they were at least two if not three shuttles that went to Walmart. People were rushing to get on before people could even get off. Horrible experience! Read Less
