Small fishing village, not much to do except take the train to Olympia to see site. Definitely take a few minutes to go swim in the oceans it was absolutely beautiful.

We took a shuttle to Olympia from Katakolon. We did not find the ruins at Olymnpia particularly interesting as there were not much information written about the ruins. We figured they wanted us to hire guides to tour the sites which we refused to do. We walked around the little town of Olympia - a quaint town. Unfortunately, it was another cool and rainy day but we enjoyed our day. Read Less

Don't go further than the local bars and shops - there is nothing else but streets filled with rubbish. Mini Train not worth doing either.

It felt more like a "stop for the ship to refuel, and passengers get off to stretch your legs" type port - a few souvenir shops and a stretch of beach that was more like an unmade road, and some very nice seafront cafe/bars

one horse town! if you don't go to Olympia ( we didn't) its pleasant just to walk along the one road of shops , have a drink overlooking the sparkling sea and then back to ship for lunch!

There is not much to see at the port. If you are interested, Olympia can be done in a two-three hour round trip. You can rent a taxi from the port (approx 80 Euros) - bargain hard. Else, you can rent a car as well.
